i'm goin crazy waiting for school to start!

ok, now that my feet are wet once again, i'm ready to officially start school. it'll be as if i'm going into my freshman year. school starts for me august 20. here's my schedule:

Mondays and Wednesdays:

ENC1101 (English Composition)..........8:00am - 9:15am
MUL2010 (Music Appreciation)...........9:30am - 10:45am
PSY2012 (General Psychology)..........11:00am - 12:15pm
PSC1121 (Physical Science)..............12:30pm - 1:45pm
MAT1033 (Intermediate Algebra)........2:00pm - 3:15pm

yah, 15 credit hours. pretty rad, huh? the only thing that's bothering me is that they haven't posted my financial aid yet. i need to know how much is coming out of my pocket. i mean, i doubt i'm gonna be paying for anything at all seeing as how i'm broke, and my taxes prove it. and i didn't pay anything out of pocket last year (granted, i took WAY less credits then...but the chick who helped me with my financial aid last year said they give more money when you take more credit hours (can anyone confirm this?)

now for my work schedule:

Saturday........4:00pm - 11:00pm
Sunday..........12:00pm - 11:00pm
Monday..........No work
Tuesday.........4:00pm - 11:00pm
Wednesday.....4:00pm - 11:00pm
Thursday........4:00pm - 11:00pm
Friday............No work

that's 39 hours. i need as close to 40 hours as possible, and my boss said the only way he can "fit me in" is work 11 hours on sundays. he gives tara, the head photo specialist, 8 hours, and we niht crew are stuck with the remaining 7. oh wellz. the only sucky thing, aside from my 11 hour sundays, is that on wednesdays, i need to head right to work from school. which means i have to wear dress clothes to school until september, which is when we get our fucking uniforms. ew. i think i'll just get changed at work once those hideous things come our way. oh, i only make $8.18 an hour. after 2 1/2 years, i only make 8.18. we're so fuckin underappreciated, people wonder why anyone that works for walgreens calls it "slavegreens"

I don't know about every school, but at Columbia U. this is true. Of course, when the financial aid guy told me this, I added on a few more classes. :wink:

Around now. But getting it in August isn't unheard of.

cause i'm gettin kinda scared here. i took care of it in june, which is why i'm scared. it says i'm approved and junk. before books, it's gonna cost $1,087.00

and what also sucks is like, i read in the paper that they're cutting funds to florida's community colleges, causing a cap on enrollment (which doesn't affect me) and i think they were gonna cut back on the financial aid. i have the article saved at work

I think the hardest part of school for students in college is to plan your homework time just like a class. This really is the difference between students passing the course work or not. Good luck guy...as bright as you sound... I'm sure you will do very well.

Surferboy, if it's any comfort, most or all Financial Aid funding comes from sources other than Tallahassee.
