And I only say that because there are few minorities, as I can tell from being a long time lurker, on the forum. I just wanted to say hi and I hope to join in on some of the discussions that go on here.

BTW, what drew me to signing up is the fairly large female representation on this board. Other penis sites are usually "cock heavy" without much women talking about dick. Girls, talk about dick as much as you can...please! (If you want start with mine..lol)

Indeed. It's obviously a pride thing for you but you're selling your brothers and sisters short if you think racial identification is part of the LPSG experience.

Not everyone here has stated his or her heritage, just as not every one has given his measurements or sexuality - nor is it expected.

Welcome, bt. Pull up a chair and enjoy. We'll love you anyway. :D

What's the big deal about him identifying his race? People here are often interested to know the gender and sexuality of board members. It doesn't seem like race is any more or less important.

I've noticed an ideology out there, especially among white americans, that the ulitmate lesson of the civil rights movement was that we should be "colorbind." IMO, that was meant to apply to people's rights, not to their identity. Race is a part of who we are, not the only part, but one part. To me, acknowledging and accepting it is healthier than ignoring it.

    BTW, welcome Black thunder.

Yeah I totally understand what your saying.

I think it's more to do with how he said it to be honest. 'I'm new and Black' If he had said it while describing himself or in a more less direct way it wouldn't have been made into a big thing!

Also known as Amorphophallus titanum. Should this become the official LPSG flower? On second thought, maybe not, it smells really bad.

I didn't think a greeting would cause such a commotion. I believe James hit it on the head. I wasn't trying to say anything derogatory. I just wanted to say I'm new to the forum and maybe I could give a different perspective from a well educated African-American (I mention "well educated" for those who said I should have intelligent contributions to the board-not to mean other African Americans here are not intelligent)

Okay, it seems I've started out stepping on toes. I hope this angst against me will settle.

I wouldn't worry too much, blackthunder. We're a pretty finicky bunch, but our "toes" are are not so easy to hurt. Mostly, I bet people appreciate someone who will step forward and contribute in a positive way.

Try uploading it again. Early on in the move, pics came over full size. Now, the board will resize it for you.
