These days when I'm out shopping I ride my Bruno - one of those electric 4-wheel scooters. It's never been hard for me to acknowledge little kindnesses but even I am surprised how often I find myself saying "Thanks" during the day.

I'm really delighted at how even the most surly-looking gangsta will go out of his way to hold a door open for me. It almost makes me wish I'd been driving one of these things around for years.

I was out shopping earlier today and as I walked ino the shopping centre I held the open open for the woman walking in behind me ( I purposely do not use the term lady). Well as I did so she called me a Sexist Pig. My response was to "Fuck off and die". This is not the first time something similar has happened to me.

I would have held the door open for anyone who was following in behind me. To say I was surprised was an understatement. A couple of hours later I now find it quite funny.

What do others think about what I class as good manners being interpreted as sexist? Has anyone encountered anything similar?

I always hold the door open for people, I don't give a rat's ass if they like it or not. IT is called being polite. IF that happens again, Dave.... Pause and then inform them that you believe that being a gentleman is a lost art.

I can't believe that woman would say something that rude.
