I have ...the strange thing is I can not understand them most of the time. One of my favorite is the "Fat club"...funny stuff. Oh and the two guys...where one is in the wheelchair and changes his mind all the time .
I don't think it's as good as some of the sketch shows that we had in the 90's, like The Fast Show and The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer, but it's pretty funny.
Ah thanks steve.. other good suggestions. Do you still get lots of our mediocre American fare over there?? Primarilly what we see is on Public Television in the form of "Masterpiece Theatre" (which is often good especially the latest production of "Bleak House" with Gillian Anderson and Charles Dance). But "Keeping up Appearances" is about it for comedy.
Great channel.....many great shows. Some of my favorites...."The Family", Absolutely Fabulous, Little Brittan, You are being served..and my all time Favorite..."The Bookeah residence..lady of the house speaking...KEEPING UP APPEARANCES.
I was reading a forum on Doctor Who, the new series that aired last year in the UK just started in America. My favourite bit that some American had written was "The problem with British shows is that they don't speak English. Couldn't they have put subtitles on it or something?"
Actually, I think the real starting-point was Hancock's Half Hour, which transferred from radio to television and ran from 1956 to 1961 ... but Steptoe and Son may well have been the first of the Brit-coms to make it successfully over the Atlantic. http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/articles/h/hancockshalfhour_7772975.shtml
