If there is anyone who has merited impeachment as much as, if not more than the Grifter-in-Chief, it's one Mitch McConnell. In fact, the idea of impeaching this clown has long been around, resurfacing time and time again:

Impeach Mitch McConnell

And there is ample and just causes as to why, in part that which is outlined in THIS THREAD:

Mitch mcconnell, the man who broke america

The latest, McConnell's continued sabotage of efforts to protect our elections from foreign meddling, prompting the twitter trend, #MoscowMitch:

#MoscowMitch trending on Twitter thanks to McConnell's refusal to protect elections from Russia

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell actually has mocked and made money off of one hashtag targeting him: #CocaineMitch. He's not going to be able to make light of the new one that's trending: #MoscowMitch.

While it's personally very painful for me to do this, the credit for this now-trending tag goes to Joe Scarborough. On Morning Joe Friday morning, he railed against McConnell's blockade of legislation to secure the 2020 election from foreign interference—namely, Russian interference.

"He is aiding and abetting Putin's ongoing attempts to subvert U.S. democracy, according to the Republican FBI, CIA, DNI…," Scarborough completely truthfully said.
"All Republicans are saying Russia is trying to subvert U.S. democracy and Moscow Mitch won't even let the Senate take a vote on it. That is un-American."

That—and the fact that he is almost single-handedly remaking the federal judiciary in his own image—makes him possibly even more dangerous to the nation's future than Trump.

Can't read WAPO's articles, but he most certainly IS. And besides that, he obstructs the proper functioning of Congress.

Guess How Many Bills Mitch McConnell has Buried?

anderson-mcconnellweasel.gif

"Since January, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has prevented over 100 bills that have passed in the House from even coming up for a vote. His actions obstruct and ignore legislation that millions of Americans backed by electing a Democratic House majority in 2018.

A full 53% of votes cast in 2018 supported a Democratic agenda, versus 45.2% for Republicans. Democrats had a popular vote majority of more than 8.6 million votes, the most in 44 years (since right after Nixon resigned).

The McConnell-engineered logjam includes popular legislation like H.R. 1, the "For the People Act," which included a number of anti-corruption measures, as well as enhanced rules and guidelines to increase voter participation.

The House also passed the "Paycheck Fairness Act," which makes it easier for women to challenge pay discrimination, as well as the "Background Checks Act," which protects children and families by expanding background checks for gun purchases."

It's a Sad Day for Democracy if this McConnell Active Betrayal goes Unchallenged

"In the past 36 hours, former Special Counsel Robert Mueller emphasized that Russia is still working diligently to meddle in U.S. elections, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned that Russia and other foreign adversaries are finding new ways to exploit U.S. election vulnerabilities, and the Senate Intelligence Committee released a bipartisan report that found Russia had targeted all 50 states in 2016 and "top election vulnerabilities remained" in the 2018 elections and continue to this day, though progress has been made.

In those same 36 hours, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has blocked two bills to shore up election security, one already passed by the House, calling them unnecessary reactions to a partisan Russia election meddling "conspiracy theory.""

I know of several Republicans who say the problem is no bipartisanship. They accuse the Democrats of not wanting to do anything but when presented with evidence that bills passed by the House are denied even being brought up in the Senate by Yurtle the Turtle they refuse to see it.
If any of us refused to do our job wouldn't we expect to be fired? What is he so afraid of?

Mitch McConnell Received Donations from Voting Machine Lobbyists Before Blocking Election Security Bills

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell squashed two bills intended to ensure voting security on Thursday, just one day after former special counsel Robert Mueller warned that Russians were attempting to sabotage the 2020 presidential elections "as we sit here."

McConnell said he wouldn't allow a vote on the bills because they were "so partisan," but, as previously reported, earlier this year McConnell received a slew of donations from four of the top voting machine lobbyists in the country.

"Clearly this request is not a serious effort to make a law. Clearly something so partisan that it only received one single solitary Republican vote in the House is not going to travel through the Senate by unanimous consent," said McConnell on the Senate floor.

The plans would likely burden the two largest electronic voting machine vendors in the United States, Election Systems & Software and Dominion Voting Systems, with new regulations and financial burdens. Together, the companies make up about 80 percent of all voting machines used in the country and both have far-reaching lobbying arms in Washington D.C. Many of those lobbyists have contributed to the McConnell campaign, reported Sludge last month, an investigative outlet that focuses on money in politics.

It's reprinted here

The committee concluded that "urgent steps" are needed "to replace outdated and vulnerable voting systems." (The $380 million offered since 2016 is a pittance compared with the need.) "Despite the expense, cybersecurity needs to become a higher priority for election-related infrastructure," the report concluded.

But one man blocks it all — while offering no alternative of his own.

Presumably he thinks whatever influence Russia exerts over U.S. elections will benefit him (he's up for reelection in 2020) and his party.

"Shame on him," Schumer said on the Senate floor this last week.

But McConnell has no shame. He is aiding and abetting Putin's dismantling of Americans' self-governance. A leader who won't protect our country from attack is no patriot.

Mitch McConnell is a Russian asset.

I so hope that a massive effort is taken to defeat Mitch McConnell. Mitch is up for reelection in Kentucky. Mitch's wife is a Chinese national with contacts on the mainland.

Dwight Eisenhower would be sick seeing what the Republican Party has become. It is just as much McConnell's fault as it is Trump's fault. Mitch is Trump's enabler.

Have these men no shame? Don't they realize that history will not be kind at all to their legacy which will only get worse as time marches on.

Of course I am leaving out the major piece of the puzzle. I expect our leaders to have character: honesty, integrity, empathy, loyalty, with the drive to strive to be fair to all. and project wisdom in making their decisions.

Trump and Mitch are totally devoid of character, therefore they aren't concerned about their legacy. Leaving a legacy is totally foreign to their understanding. Sad. Tragic.

Somehow Americans have to wake up and smell the coffee. We have two wolves guarding the hen house!

Their legacy is stealing for their supporters, that is what they care about - infecting the judiciary for two generations, grabbing all the cash they can and crippling the Federal government with debt so it is powerless. Actually, when we look at it, Trump is the enabler of Mitch more than the other way around. This is what Mitch has always been about, Trump just made him powerful enough to do it.

Exactly. Unless something is done soon we will have another revolution as soon the 1% will own everything not just the 50% they do now. And buybacks are particularly egregious, companies flush with cash thanks to tax cuts decide not to reward their workers but their shareholders.

moscow mitch strikes again:

Ex-McConnell staffers lobbied on Russian-backed Kentucky project - POLITICO

"Two former top staffers to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have lobbied Congress and the Treasury Department on the development of a new Kentucky aluminum mill backed by the Russian aluminum giant Rusal, according to a new lobbying disclosure.

The disclosure comes as Democrats are pushing the Trump administration to review Rusal’s $200 million investment in the Kentucky project — concerned that the mill will supply the Defense Department — and as McConnell weathers criticism for helping block a congressional effort to stop the investment.

The Russian firm was only able to make the investment after it won sanctions relief from penalties the Treasury Department initially imposed in April 2018 on Rusal and other companies owned by Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch and Kremlin ally accused of facilitating Moscow’s nefarious activities, such as seizing land in Ukraine, supplying arms for the Syrian regime and meddling in other countries’ elections."

AOC calls out #MoscowMitch over his El Paso crocodile tears

"We definitely need more of this from Democrats when they’re at loggerheads with their morally challenged brethren across the aisle — because we’re well the fuck past being cordial.

In the wake of the deadly El Paso shooting, #MoscowMitch thought he’d slip in a fake condolence tweet before moving on with his oily, squandered life, but Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t having it:"

"The House passed HR8, a Bipartisan Background Checks Act, *5 months ago* and the Senate has yet to vote on it.

It was one of our 1st major priorities after ending the gov shutdown. You'™ve been sitting on it since February giving bogus excuses.

Care to explain the people why?" — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC)

Moscow Mitch is opening all kinds of doors to Russian interference in the U.S.
https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...-of-doors-for-Russian-interference-in-the-U-S
"Moscow Mitch McConnell is finally getting much-needed national press attention for his absolute refusal to take up legislation to protect American citizens against two immediate threats: gun violence and our 2020 election security.

There's a longer-term threat, though, that he's helping to create that has national security and foreign policy experts concerned: He's opened the door to Kremlin political leverage through his push to have sanctions lifted against the Russian conglomerate Rusal, which then engineered a $200 million investment in McConnell's home state of Kentucky for an aluminum mill."
