Why does LPSG allow impersonators to run accounts with stolen pictures? I just reported someone on here for using my pics, and was told because I am not photo verified, LPSG won't stop this fraudulent account. I am photo verified, and the pictures the person is using are in my photo album. This makes me feel like this isn't a safe community to take part in.

Hi there

Sorry to hear this. I can empathise with you. I spend a great deal of time challenging misappropriated copyright and unauthorised use of images.
It is a pain and quite difficult to stop but raising the issue and challenging the person or organisation can get a result.

The main issue is proof ie that it is you and your copyright. Adding a watermark with photoshop can help. Personally I'd prefer to see all of you but ....

I hope the example is ok by you and just say if otherwise and I can delete.

Hope this helps. It would be a shame if it put you off sharing.

What do you do if your pictures are used without your consent on social networks?

This is awful. Out the accounts, post their usernames.

Yeah best thing to do is watermark each and every pic by deleting all your pics and starting over, or? Pulling them down one by one. Marking them and reloading.
Or take them down all together and then blame the poser when asked what happen to all your pics!?!?!
You can also set your profile to where either those you follow can view? Or those who follow you can view. The latter though is not a good choice as anyone who follows you? And because there's no way to deny a member from following you? Tom Dick and Harry can follow and view and possibly steal your pics again.
Sorry for dragging this on. So yeah marking your pics is your best option other than deleting them.

Also if you can 100% prove those are your pics? Report the fucktard who stole your pics. I believe it is against the ToS for stealing pics then making claim as their own.

Believe it or not!?!?! There have been members who have stolen pics from other members who had stolen them from another member who had stolen them off the net. Thievery has no shame! Even and or especially on the net

It’s fucking creepy. Is catfishing an actual crime now? As it is catfishing. And identity theft.
