"With a name like SMUCKER'S it has to be good":confused:

(tm JM Smucker Co. Orrville, Ohio)

Why does it have to be good? Thought about this for years.
What does the name of a business have to do with anything.

Perhaps we can solve this imponderable.:biggrin1:

Sorry, this thread should probably be in etcetera. Don't know how to move it.

Since Smucker's has a name which sounds similar to Schmucker's, it obviously had to have a nearly divine taste. After all, would you want to nibble on toast or bagels with a product which proudly declared it was made by a schmuck? schmuck: Definition, Synonyms from Answers.com (although in fairness, as a restaurant it seems to be doing well: Schmucker's Restaurant )

Anyway that would be the only explaining I could give for their advertising comment.

I never got "Fruit of the Loom" either. When I was a kid and first heard the brand name, I imagined undershorts hanging ripely in Loom trees. I remember my comment about it getting a big laugh at a family gathering.

So why exactly, does the local t.v. stations break in 10 or 15 minutes before their regular news air time just to bring you "late breaking news" that could've waited 10 or 15 minutes? Is it:

a) to annoy you
b) to get you to call them a bunch of silly f---ing assholes
c) just for chuckles
d) all of the above
