I had a cat named tiger that fetched foil balls, never had to buy him cat toys. He loved everything I gave him and would hourde it all in his bed. bread ties, electrical cord, toilet paper cores, bottle caps, empty lighters. He would obey commands like a dog, I trained him to climb up my body and sit on my shoulder. But he only did that so he could be let out which I didn't like to do because he was a 18 pound furry ball of muscle and would always attack any cat that would dare come near the property. I actually lost him once when he ran out. There was a fire in a trashcan from hot cigs dumped from a tray. He woke my friend up by running over the bed,the second floor was filled with smoke and my friend then woke up everyone else. When they went out the house so did he. He came back like a year later. I thought I saw him under a parked car looking my way. I called his name and he ran right to me rubbing his smelly self all over my pants and shoes. He didn't want to go out after that.
just a cool cat...

Well, I stand corrected on cats. Had a few but guess I learned a lot. Thanks for the stories.

My last cat died about 8 years ago and we had him for about 18 years. Fluffy black with a white undercoat and yellow eyes. He used to be crazy for those black olives that come on pizza. He'd come around looking whenever we'd order from Dominoes. We'd give him one, he'd eat it, then do a roll over. Weird.

My cat loves red wine. And no, I don't give wine to my cat, but if I leave a glass sitting where she can reach it, she'll lick the rim. She's not too enthusiastic about beer though.

I had one cat that love pimento stuffed green olives. She would bat them around the room before pouncing and finally devouring them.

Another one would lose his furry little mind when I would eat vanilla ice cream. He would recognize the container and pretend that he was the best behaved kitty in the world. He would sit behind my head on the couch with one paw on my shoulder and watch each spoon go from bowl to mouth. Eventually I'd put a little on my finger and he'd delicately lick it off, then nuzzle my ear, purr gently and then pet my shoulder again waiting for another finger taste. I miss that little guy.

^yep. The ice cream. He'd seem to actually know the birthday routine and patiently wait for it:

"Okay, they have the round thing with little wicks of fire on top of it. They've lit it up, they're singing, now they've blown it out. Here it comes. Look down here. Look down...hey are you looking?"

...and he'd get his own tiny helping on a saucer or lid and lick it dry.

Sorry to hear of that, Spoon. I don't know if it's any worse when they've been in the family for so long as was our experiences. Maybe the loss of a friend/family member is equally painful, regardless.

Most of us here have been through that... at least once, not that your knowing that is necessarily much comfort. But know we "feel ya".

Looks like I'm gonna have to try my cat on olives as so many other cats like 'em!

My cat's weirdest food choice is probably lemon juice, although she's mostly outgrown it now. She used to lick it off my fingers, shake her head and her lips, then go back for more :biggrin1:.

I also think her love of vegemite is weird and that she's a traitor for eating the stuff (I hate it), but it really is normal enough for a cat to like vegemite.

My cat loved ice cream when she was a baby!!! The day she tried to climb inside my mouth to get to some was the day I decided she was old enough to learn some manners. As an adult she hates dairy though.

Now she's grown up, her go-crazy foods are banana and peppermints (not together!). She smells these foods from across the room and gobbles them up like they're about to disappear on her.

Oh, that's so sad spoon :frown1:.

Lemon juice? Bananas? Peppermint? Cats are so funny! My current pair seem to have no weird food habits. They might be weird, but just not in a food way. One weighs about 20 lbs, but thinks she's still a kitten. So she jumps up on places she has no business being - knocking over glasses, books, lamps, etc. and then looks confused, like "Wtf? Who the hell keeps following me and knocking shit over???"

The other one was a rescue who was tortured as a kitten, and subsequently lost her voice, so she doesn't meow. She communicates with these little whispers and her eyes. But she now uses it to manipulate me. I swear, she sleeps on top of me and if I try to move she gives me this pathetic look and whispered mew as if she's saying "hey, I've had a tough life. The least you could do is remain in the same position for 10 to 14 hours, letting me drool on you. I mean, it's not my fault someone hurt me. You decided to take me in. If you disturb me while I sleep, it makes me feel unloved....so if that's how you want to make me feel......"

So physio & massage are quite costly.....
