DC, I will explain a bit why I'm here.

As I have mentioned before, I live in Indio (a California desert town that is far from being a wealthy community) because I own several businesses here. Some might choose to live in a 'nicer' place and hire others to manage their day-to-day operations. I tried that for awhile, but was unhappy with the way things were going. At the same time, I do have on-site managers who do most of the basic work, while I make upper-level type decisions. This means that I have a fair amount of spare time on my hands, a lot of which I pass by browsing internet web sites.

A friend of mine recently told me about this site. I don't want to identify him because I don't want to ruin his good name by associating him with my obnoxiousness. I didn't plan upon causing controversy here, but that seems to be what happens when I join message boards, due to my outspoken nature.

I am not sure whether I'll be here for the long haul. My guess is that enough people will bitch about me and I'll get banned. If that happens, so be it. But be it known that I'm not actually TRYING to piss everyone off, and I'm not a troll, as much as it seems like it at times.

Have a quick look at my post #63, and I think you will start to understand what I mean. Opinions are fine, not all have to be expressed. If you enjoy friendly online banter and occasional intelligent debate, this is an excellent site. If you enjoy looking at the galleries, so much the better. If you see photos that don't appeal to you, there is no reason to point that out. Just look elsewhere without comment. That's what the rest of us do.

Have I seen any photos in the galleries that I find unappealing? Of course. Do I feel compelled to tell that person that I think they are unattractive? Not at all, I just don't look at that person's pictures any more.

I know, I have spent time with her, in real life. I'm no sycophant, either. I feel free to tell her what's on my mind, but I do so with tact.

And although I have had my differences with many LPSG members, male and female, I have never just posted comments in a thread saying how unattractive I think they are. I focus on the behaviors, not the individuals. Besides, I imagine that Bliss's keen mind will last a hell of a lot longer than my good looks.

I recently attempted to smooth over this little rift with mercurial by PMing her. Unfortunately, despite my very civil attempts to extend the olive branch, she lashed out at me with nasty namecalling and presented a generally condescending attitude.

At the crux of the argument is my continued assertion that her current avatar picture is far inferior to others in her gallery. She insisted that I am 'stupid' for continuing to believe so, given that she supposedly has 14 PMs from people who have thrown down undying praise toward her current avatar pic. She claims that with 14 people finding it attractive, versus little ol' me finding it unattractive, obviously I am the one with the offbeat taste in female photography.

But here is the problem: I will concede that mercurial is a rather well-liked long-time member of this forum. Therefore, it is unlikely that anyone is willing to say anything critical about the picture, especially if they fear (rightfully so) that it will hurt her feelings or get her angry.

To settle this matter, we need to get some neutral parties involved.

Here is what I propose:

I will select 2 or 3 pictures from her gallery that are relatively comparable in style to her current avatar picture. That is, they will be non-nude (and non-seductive) shots that show her face. I will take those pictures and post them on a bulletin board of a completely different website that neither of us currently visit. I will simply post the pictures and ask the heterosexual male members of that bulletin board to rate them from best to worst. We will also ask which picture she looks oldest and which she looks youngest. I can almost guarantee that the current avatar will be judged as worst and the oldest-looking, thus proving my point.

I will ask the heterosexual males there for their opinion as to rank the photos from best to worst, as far as attractiveness. Then we'll have an unbiased sample from totally neutral parties. How about it?

In fairness to MB (who for the record I don't believe I've ever shared a conversation) the context of the "not all that bright" was that you claimed to be of the same opinion of MOST het guys, yet were the only one of 15 (?) to have PMd an opinion on her image who wasn't complimentary. The statistics suggest that your assumption (that of your opinion being more than simply yours and far more wide spread) was not a very bright one to make, this is quite different to calling someone stupid.

One is a statement based on the statistical proof held before you, the other is a personal attack backed by nothing more than a disliking of someone.

There wasn't a context. She said that I'm not all that bright, not that I'm not being bright in this particular situation.

If they even exist (which I somewhat doubt), they came from yes-men intending to make her feel better (or get into her pants). That was the reason for my challenge. I was so sure about my position that I was willing to go through the trouble of putting the question to a group of strangers to show how right I was.

Two points here I want to make

A - by your own logic you are now calling MB a Liar.

B - I was one of the 14 and most folks know for sure, including MB hereself, that I don't want to get into her pants nor do I want to make her feel better. She is just absolutely fine as she is. Also, why would I be so conceited to think that anything that I could say to anyone here would make them feel any differently. Perhaps if you thought along those lines then you would stop your attempts of having a negative impact on other members.
