Which proves to me old soviet days comics had wit and courage, very noble compared to foul mouthed American and British comdeians who daren't criticise the state at any cost so turn their caustic scorn (it can't be called humour) on the elderly, sick, poor. You never got arrested in Sovit Russia for criticising the state or politicians if you were obviously intoxicated!

In Soviet Russia, confused is you.
Rubi was alluding to a saying attributed to Karl Marx. It is very widely known: that is why he ventured to make a Smirnov joke about it. You apparently did not get the joke, presumably because you were unaware of the allusion. I provided a link so that you can look it up. How is that supposed to make me confused?
