In the check out line of stupidity.

Yesterday evening I was standing in the check out line at the local Borders book store. In front of me was this georgous dark haired woman. Behind me were these two guys about my age. They were talking about her in a not so subtle way. Oh, it started as quiet wisperings that is until one of them in blurted out (i think in spite of himself) "Man look at those titties!" They then tried to involve me in the conversation. She was obviously uncomfortable, I was uncomfortable and not just a little bit pissed . And the people around us I think were shocked that this was actually happening.
It came her turn at the register, she stepped forward and these two continued there rant, albiet quietly I could still hear them and we all knew it was still happening. As one of them was talking to me I turned to him, stepped up closer and asked them what they were doing there since I'm sure neither of them could read and they don't sell porn here. I told him to put his book back and quit pretending, the thought that you have a brain was just an illusion. Then then began the normal prideful threats about how I'm probably gay (no offense guys) and that I probably have a small dick. I then tell them my sexual orientation the size of my dick nor the size of thiers is going to save them if this continues. One of them looked at me and thought better of this little fantasy they were entertaining. He took his friends arm and turned and left like a couple of junior high guy telling me it was a good thing we were in public or... well you know.
WHAT??!!?? That's not supposed to happen! Who acts like that! I live in a fairly swanky part of town and people general fancy themselves as somewhat sophisticated. What in the world?!?! Being an athlete I've been around my share of gyms and locker rooms and I've heard our (men) talk, hell in my younger years I particpated in it. But what happened last night was just stupid and surreal and made me embarassed for the male species in general. On top of all that these guys don't know me. I'm not a small person, I could be anybody, even dangerous. They don't know. What a couple of tools, It's enough to drive a man to violence. Men if this is you.... rise above it. Ladies if this has happened to you, please, extend you grace to those of us who know better.

Can you imagine if a couple gay guys were openly talking about one of those guys' packages in public like that? I wonder how funny they would find it. I wonder if they feel that it was just as acceptable.

It's a good thing I'm not King, because guys who think it's OK for them to wolf-whistle or make comments about women, but then would beat up a fag who did the same thing to them, would by law be ass-raped and then carved up so that their organs could be donated (that way they would have a purpose). :smile:

If you want it just to stop, then flip out your cell phone, pretend you are dialing emergency 911, and tell them you'd like to report a serious sexual harrassment case occurring right now at the Borders book store between two teenage punks and a lovely lady who is trying to ignore them.

Otherwise, Tell the punks that if she isn't offended, you are, and you will be happy to defend her honor. All she has to do is give you permission and her name, address, and phone number!

This is SSDD for women, there is an unfortunately high percentage of men who are too stupid to know what social decorum means. What boggles my mind is the thought that they must believe this will get them somewhere. What, is a girl supposed to just drop to her knees and blow them just because they noticed she has tits?

Pass by any construction site, any office water cooler hang-out where men are in the majority, and the comments are sure to follow. These men are my strongest argument for keeping abortion legal and safe. Would that their mothers had practised it.

On a more serious note, if boys are to be raised to respect women, I would say it's more up to the father to teach that than the mother.

Maybe they mistakingly beleived that thier comments were compliments? People do like being complimented, but saying, "You have large breasts," or something similar is not a compliment. I know people who act like this, and thier behavior is totally unfathomable.

not that i'm terribly interested in their unseasoned, vacuous minds, but from time to time i wonder how some people manage to be so dense. it's almost as if they do everything in their power to refrain from demonstrating even a morsel of intelligence in public, private or anywhere. doesn't really matter though, people like that generally die in freak accidents.

What's totally surprising is that these two guys didn't have the restraint to comment about her even while she was in public. I'd have expected that sort of juvenile display out of guys half their age, but not their actual age.

Then when they realize you didn't want to chime in, depsite your admitting the young lady's attractiveness, they become insecure as hell and challenge your masculanity and sexual preference.

Funniest thing is--they didn't have a problem being lewd in the store, but they had a problem resolivng their issues with you in public.

If it were me getting all this flak from Beavis & Butthead, I'd have 1st warned them about it, then spoke up to the manager/cashier about it then & there.

Given the situation, I did the best I could in the moment. I had many "I should have..." thoughts after the fact. As always hindsight is 20/20. The whole thing was just odd anyway. I was in again today and one of the clearks that was there that evening let me know the manager was notified and the two are to be "watched for" whatever that means. I don't have a quick temper but my fight or flight mechanism has always been closer to fight or FIGHT and once it goes it's GONE so I try to reign it in. Besides thats why I post here so you can be pissed off for me:smile: or at the very least, with me!:biggrin1:
