I so hate this question because I so love movies: I can't limit the number to five. Hell, I can't limit the number to twenty! If I tried coming up with my favourite thirty, I would end up leaving out some that should certainly be listed, and then realise later what title didn't occur to me while trying to compile my list. I must take a pass on this one.

Oh, Kim, you're SO decadent! Have you no self-control? LOL

My list, though it be hasty and subjectively of-the-moment, follows:

Memento
Dangerous Liaisons
JFK
Fight Club
Dead Man Walking

*waiting for someone to post one that makes me say "Darn! I forgot that one!"*!

My taste in movies is kind of odd, but at the top of the list is everything by David Lynch except Dune. then I can only list some favs, too many to only pick 5 but,

1. American Psycho

2. American Beauty

3. Angel heart

4. Things to do in Denver When You're Dead

5. Kill Bill

Also, just saw I <3 Huckabee's and it was tremendous.

Dr. Rock, do you mean the movie where all five of them fall in love at the end? That's homo porn, dude!

Well, have to follow my tradition, after all...

5 ... Wag The Dog
4 ... DOA (the 1988 Quaid/Ryan remake)
3 ... Blues Brothers
2 ... Fargo
1 ... Apocalypse Now

And the follower-ups

10 ... The Thomas Crown Affair (the 1967 McQueen/Dunaway original)
9 ... The Bonfire Of Vanities
8 ... All The President's Men
7 ... Three Days Of The Condor
6 ... The Day Of The Jackal (Zinneman's 1973 Original, not the 1997 sloppy remake)

Finding Nemo
Pirates of the Caribbean

I saw both, and for my taste, the remake is far too smooth and too styled. Brosnan is an overrated actor - his acting in the remake is nowhere near the quiet, ironic character Steve McQueen showed in the original. Plus, the idea of the first movie is a lot better: Have 6 guys who don't know each other act out your plan, meeting just once and then never again. Now THAT is an intelligent plan.
