Life is unfair because some people get much better situations than others.
Some are born with good health, others with poor health. Some have perfect bodies, others have birth defects. Some have loving parents, others abusive parents who could care less. Some rich, and some poor. Nobody has any control over those things. Some people just get more and better chances along the way. Some are just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Sure, some of life is what we make of it. We have some control and some ability to change things. We can't change everything, and some things are nearly impossible to overcome. Life is not fair by design. It never has been, and it never will be. I don't see stating these facts as complaining.
I never thought I'd say this but...Viking, you took the words right out of my mouth.
We can do our best to put into life what it will take to get a positive outcome. And that works more often than not.
But sometimes, bad things just happen. And although some people don't like to hear the words, "nearly impossible," I think for some people, that's the naked truth. I know people who are so emotionally and mentally twisted by what they've been through, I don't think they'll ever find their way to happiness. I never stop hoping, but I'm not blindly optimistic.
These people didn't deserve to be dumped on (usually as children), be it by other human beings or by "nature." When bad things happen to complete innocents, that is the epitome of unfairness.
So no, I don't believe life is fair, but that doesn't stop me from moving forward to make the most happy and fulfilling life I can for myself
and for the people around me.
