Ladies of LPSG, quote me and concur if you've told a man no, and he's done something frightening or violent, like threaten you, blackmail you, subject you to battery (either by hand, or with a weapon), stalked you, kidnapped you, or raped you.

As for me, I've been threatened, stalked, blackmail has been attempted, and I've been raped. The rapist was my boyfriend at the time. The others were very loose acquaintances, guys I just knew from around the way.

I tried to reply to this earlier, but the site was fucking up.

I've had men behave in threatening, scary ways after I told them I wasn't interested. I've had them follow me, try to corner me, lay a hand on me, and more. The majority of them were men I either didn't know at all or only very vaguely knew because they moved through some shared social circles.

Communication.

That's how society tends to progress. It takes sharing of perspectives, and a willingness to understand the other side. It's an ugly, messy process. I think it's better than sweeping it all under the rug and hoping it just goes away on its own.

1- Sooo... you realize that Madeline Stuart is a professional model? And she has her own fashion line? Not to mention her role as an advocate for those with Down Syndrome. And she's done this by age 21. What have YOU done with your life???? Really, really bad example of "evidence", man. Poor form.

2- You don't think that guys aren't all entitled and that women don't get those exact same kinds of messages? Try again. I don't suffer (often) with self esteem issues, but I've gotten the same kind of thing. "I prefer blondes", "I like girls with big tits", "You're too tall for me", and at different times, I've heard "I prefer someone with more curves" and "I prefer someone less curvy". It happens all. the. time. Regardless of gender.

CONCUR! I consider myself extremely fortunate... my experiences have been "just" stalking/harrassing texts, emails, phone calls, etc from someone who didn't want to accept the fact that I ended a relationship. (underline above added for emphasis) When choosing someone to date, I place a very high priority on ethics and good character, so it's not like I've dated the hot-but-unstable guy who would escalate to the violent stuff. Some of my girlfriends have not been as lucky, but not to the point of physical violence... more of heavy stalking, threats, and blackmail.
