Well here people would make fun of those who were cut due to phimosis... Its totally ugly to have cut dick. It's not natural.
I wonder how many people in the US circumcised majority that are utterly convinced of the superiority of their own circumcision status would change their tune if they went to a country like yours. One where they were pitied or thought of as a freak. They might find their opinion was based a little bit more on fitting in than personal confidence.

Well I dont know what kind of wacky hospitals you guys are thinking of but I didn't have to "fight" anything or put a spycam on the baby's crib. They asked if I wanted him circumsized and I said "No". It was pretty much that simple.
It isn't always.

That's a great shame, and just as unjustifiable as the "Eew gross!" reaction to intactness. Do your countryfolk mock amputees too?

It must be repeated that a bare glans is relatively common for uncircumcised adults. Not sure what percentage of mal;es end up with permanently retracted foreskin as adults. But it happens naturally for some, others train their foreksin to stay back during puberty and it become permanent.

Circumcision simnply emulates a condition that happens naturally on some uncircumcised males.

Are you seriously arguing that because there is a "relatively" common defect, it is OK to emulate that, and that somehow that becomes natural?

That is like saying that twins should be sewn together because it is "relatively" common to have conjoined twins.

What lengths will people go to to justify this wierd anachronistic practice?

If you search aposthia, you will find it described as a rare or very rare congenital birth defect. So stop misrepresenting defects to support your silly argument. Hypospadias anyone?

Men with aposthia still have the ridged band and the ~20,000 specialised nerves. Circumcised men don't, and may have had their frenulum taken, too.

"Simply emulates" is a wonderful bit of wordplay to annihilate the surgery involved - with all its risks - in getting from one condition to the other.

Well it's not exactly as I wrote, I just wanted to illustrate that in Europe it's "Norm" to be uncut, so those who are cut are in minority and look "different". It's kinda opposite as to be uncut in the States... got it??

That kinda stuff is one of the biggest reasons I dislike the current system for infant circumcision. Rights of the child in this case are kinda like rights of minors in court before In re Gault. (look it up)

Are you seriously still trying to label circumcision as a "natural" state? Some people are born with the "conditions" of blindness or Phocomelia. This doesn't mean it is acceptable to operate on their eyes or limbs to "emulate" these conditions.

I find this harsh. People are people, and have feelings. Very few people get to choose their circumcision status.

Well if you're not among those who mock, good on you. I'd have thought most Europeans would be pretty urbane about differences.

I'm a cut American living in Central Europe for about 14 years. I don't get "pity" looks from the guys around me at the gym or pool. In the early days (after the 1989 revolution) I got approached regularly by guys who were curious. Many said how much they liked it. Nowadays it's common place to see cut Americans, Israelis, Muslims etc at the local gym or pool.

I don't regret that I'm cut. I don't hold my parents accountable nor do I harbor any ill will. It was done in the 50s, period. Much as parents spanked their kids in public, gave them beer as kids and put them in the car without seatbelts. It was part of the times in which we lived.

On another note, a Czech girl I know lived in the US for about 12 years. Met an American and got married and about 4 years ago had a son together. He was cut at birth. I asked her why and she said it was really her decision. Yes, her husband is cut and she said after dating and experiencing Czech men and comparing them to her husband, she thought her son should be cut as well. It was more about hygiene than aesthetics she said. The Czech guys regularly had hygiene problems which, she claimed, was a huge turn off.

Another woman, based on what she experienced, deciding what her son should or shouldn't experience when he becomes sexually active. I suppose she did it out of love.
