Hi,

Dumb question, but is the inner foreskin in a circ'd penis the same as actual foreskin that contains those specialised nerves? In my case, the bit between the glans and the actual outer skin

Thanks!

I think that initially, yes, that skin contains the same nerves functioning in the same way. However, exposed nerves will become desensitized. If they didn't, then you would still feel the pain of your circumcision today. After circumcision and over time the skin will change and become less sensitive, just like the glans will change and won't really be a mucous membrane anymore.

Technically the nerves are still they, but they don't function the same way.

It depends on how much of the inner skin is left. Highly-cut guys have almost all of them. However no matter the style, you will almost always lose the nerves in the ridged band.

Whether or not that matters is subjective. If your dick works and feels good, that's fine.

The ridged band is key part lost in circumcision. The ridged band contains over 20,000 special nerve endings called Meissner's Corpuscle. All nerve endings work by sensing vibration and Meissner's Corpuscles have the lowest threshold for vibration in the human body. Lower the threshold = more sensitive.

Always that same story about the 20.000 nerves, spread by all them anti-circumcision followers. Are they sure it's exactly 20.000? Whatever, in somebody's arm or elbow are also a lot of nerves, even more than 20000, but it doesn't feel sexual, does it? The point is that you don't need a foreskin to enjoy sex!

I have some inner foreskin left between my head and scar. It doesn't feel any more or less sensitive than the rest of the skin on my shaft below my scar. The inner skin is slightly more pink, though.

Is that what you're referring to?

The slightly pinker skin between your circumcision scar and glans is what is left of your inner foreskin. It will contain the same sensitive nerves that it had before you got cut. How much of the inner foreskin you have left depends on how you were circumcised. I've only got about a quarter of an inch but sensitivity is fine. If your dick feels good I wouldn't worry about which nerve endings were removed.
