What Do We Think About Mens Fashion Today?

First, it’s cool to see hivemind applied to the male presenting members of LPSG.
Secondly, how do the Ladies if LPSG Rock their wardrobes?
Have favorite fibers/ materials?

Like the originator of the AAM thread, I was drawn to the looks of my birth time.
I was almost a year old when Woodstock and the moon landing happened.
I wore bell bottoms in elementary, and I’d wear them now. I’ve had them as an adult. And I’m tempted to take an old skirt I’m having trouble ditching and make elephant bells out of a pair of jeans that shrank in length.

I like bell sleeves, beads, cotton and linen. Flowing lines and swirling feels.

I enjoyed that other thread.

I don’t really follow fashion/trends. I have my own sense of style that’s pretty classic but with an edge. For work, I often do skirt and pantsuits with a button down shirt, with either sexy shoes or fun jewelry. I am willing to spend money on quality classic pieces... things I will wear for years... like Brooks Brothers shirts, Cole Haan and Stuart Weizmann shoes especially when I find them on sale. I don’t really go for “designer” labels, except for dresses. It’s hard to go wrong with a DVF wrap dress. There’s a great consignment store near an affluent area that is a good source for these. I almost never spend much for Trendy type stuff that won’t be worn beyond that season.

for casual, it’s a different matter. In the summer, I live in athletic casual dresses... like golf or after-yoga dresses with sandals. In winter, I do jeans and western boots with either a fitted white button down or feminine shirt. I dig the contrast of country and classic or rugged and girlie. I buy almost exclusively western jeans because I’m just a smidge too tall for a standard length jean and they run long. Not the sparkle-butt kind. An added bonus is that if jeans are designed to be worn riding horses, they cover your crack while sitting, while not having the mom jean look in the front.

I'm good with my own style, but I’m also jealous (not in a negative way) of people who have a very, VERY different style. Like I think wild color hair is awesome. I love black women who rock braids or huge Afros. I love those who do whatever the trend is, and those who do the opposite of current trends. Anyone who embraces their own thing.

I have zero sense of fashion. Genuinely . I'm a huge nerd too. So chucks, jeans and some short of silly reference based tshirt in almost always black. I have a visable tattoo and decorative branding scar. Glasses and quite often some sort of crazy hair.

It was shaved last year on one side, though with covid, I have longer ish hair now. I'm not going to change that until it's safe to go back. Or I'll just say fuck it and shave it all. Who knows. 2020 isn't over yet.

I don't work in an office anymore so I can wear whatever I like :imp:
In weather like this most of the time I'm in leggings or jeans and a hoodie/sweater. In summer just shorts and a t-shirt/tank/crop top. I'll rarely wear a dress unless I'm going out out (which hasn't happened since January :().. but if I'm just running around in one I'll be weird and wear it with something like combat boots :)
Shoes and boots are my weakness.. they usually end up dominating any outfit.

I went into debt for a wardrobe when I was in advertising. But today I'd more likely be found in a tee and shorts. If I'm in the office or meeting a client for the first time I'll be all business.

OK, we're not counting earrings and bracelets right?

My current wardrobe is very different from my ideal wardrobe.

Current wardrobe is lots of ankle length skirts, tank tops, tunic tops, leggings on one side. Basketball type shorts and not femme cut t-shirts on the other. I wear 100% cotton where I can, cotton blends where I cannot.

Ideal wardrobe would be everything from Victorian style goth influence gowns, cyber goth apparel with straps and buckles, and tailored vests/suit jackets/trousers. Also corsets of all sorts of materials. Leather and natural fibers are my preferences.

I wear t-shirts, jeans (mens) or leggings, sneakers, and a hoodie. All day, errday.

If I'm at home I'll wear men's tank tops with boxers or my own panties. But basically if I'm in public/in front of other people for whatever reason, be it work or just going to the grocery store I'm in a T and the most comfortable pants I have which are clean. Even funerals, I just wear black on black but I don't even own a blouse or skirt/dress at all anymore.

During summer I have a few pairs of shorts I wear out and about but not to work because they're a bit too short for that.

Almost everything is black, grey, white or brown. I don't wear jewelry or other accessories.

My attire is 100% based on my personal comfort. It has literally nothing to do with looking attractive. As long as it fits, and it's clean, and comfy I'm good. So most of my clothes come from the men's section. Plain T-shirts are my jam. I do have a lot of leggings compared to a couple years ago but that's because of the way my body changed and leggings are easy to find a good fit and they're affordable as fuck. But I steal his pants to wear regularly and he even handed me down his older jeans that are still in good condition that don't really fit him anymore.

As for hair/makeup, I wear my hair natural or in a regular ponytail.. makeup I usually just wear mascara. I haven't put on a full face in months. MONTHS. Most of my shit expired so I had to toss it. I do like the fluttery eye thing I get with my Clump Crusher, so I still use that daily but that's literally it as far as "beauty products" these days.

I also have zero fashion skills.

Corduroy skirts and pants, jean skirts and pants, t-shirts, a-line skirts and dresses. Vintage stuff. 75-85% of wardrobe is thrifted or hand me down.

I do LOVE pearls, opals, rubies, topaz. Post earrings. Very dainty stuff.

No hair styling, wash and air dry. Shoulder blade hair length currently. My one vanity with hair is chocolate/mahogany henna to cover gray.

Are you referring to like a commercial "Henna color" or something you're blending yourself with natural henna powder?

I buy my henna at a traditional Indian market and they only sell different brands of 100% pure henna (they also sell indigo and some indigo/henna blends). I've tried a few different brands of pure henna and it's all pretty much the same stuff, the only way I can noticeably influence the shade is by playing with the liquid I use to prepare it - I usually use rooibos tea to push a little more red.

I am on a long hair board. There’s a very active and informative henna section.
Most true henna mixes aside from indigo are ratios of henna with cassia (not the cinnamon, the plant) which is often called “neutral henna.”
I have cassia because I already have red hair, and really just need the strengthening of cassia.

Liquids accent and “terp” the henna, shifting depth and durability. Acids help with staying power on skin, and the dyers say it helps on hair.
I’m curious if wool or silk, as proteins, could be henna dyed. I find wool and silk second hand regularly, and don’t have an issue with them at that point.

Surya brand henna cream, no need to mix it. I use mahogany mixed with chocolate usually

I  wool but I'm just so tired of hand-washing, flat drying and moths :(
When winter is over I usually vacuum seal my wool with lavender and anti-moth packets but this year I decided to just leave them in storage because it's become such a chore.

Oh. Hair varies wildly. Clippers wielded ferociously so it is a quarter inch long all over on one side. So long I sat on it by accident on the other. Mostly floats between down to shoulder blades and a few inches long. Have had everything from a mohawk, fauxhawk, pixie cut, and having one side shaved. Also zero styling and just grown the fuck out. Has been various shades of red n purple. Current hair is all virgin and my natural super deep reddish brown to black tone.

mmmm, my fashion sense is pretty haphazard tbh, up until a couple of years ago I would change my style like the wind. Various hair colours/styles, body piercings, different styles of clothes to suit whatever crazy thing I was into at the time, various transfer tattoos etc etc. I could be grungy one month, prim and proper the next then decide I wanna be a rock chick pmsl, I guess I've calmed down a lot in recent times plus my hair got bad with the constant styling and colouring, I've also put on weight and sometimes feel quite frumpy not that I'm bothered about that.
These days I just wear whatever feels comfortable mostly, especially with all the covid thing and not being able to go anywhere much.
If I want to look 'nice' in fitted clothes I usually have to buy what I like a few sizes too big because of my body shape and then alter to suit my waist, having a very large bust, wide hips and a projecting bottom has often made buying clothes off the peg difficult without having to alter anything. I have successfully bought a few things from 'Simply Be' which have fitted nicely, it's nice that there's stores over here in the UK now catering properly for taller women with larger body types, humps and bumps etc even if they are predominantly online stores. Other than that I'll just lounge around in whatever really, leggings and a tee often do me fine Lol.
