His name is at least interesting... Welsh... "Ioan" is also a Roumanian name... But I have to remember that Wales and Wallachia have the same meaning... !

If the Scots pronounce Ewan as "You-an," then how do the Welsh pronounce Ioan?

NP, Pecker, I'm better at assigning than I am reading them, but there are times my curiosity gets the better of me.

He first caught my eye in Titanic.

Then I was addicted to his Horation Hornblower series. (It was funny when he married Saphy - Sweetie, Darling - Monsoon!!!)

Can't wait to see Fantastic 4... Anyone got photos of him in costume?

Yes, he had a small speaking role as "5th Officer Lowe." He did look good, though!

Any one got any more pictures of Ioan? He's really very beautiful. There is a shower scene during one of the episodes of Hornblower. Any one got any screen caps?

Was checking out a pic of 'Fantastic Four' in which they were all wearing their body suits - mainly because of Chris Evans, but this guy (Ioan Gruffud) caught my eye. He looks hot - and had a larger bulge even than Chris Evans, who is quite suitably endowed! Anyone have any better pics of this hottie? The links on this thread don't work.

If the Scots pronounce Ewan as "You-an," then how do the Welsh pronounce Ioan?

Being Welsh I'd say it's pronounced 'yo an' BUT, as long as people try that's the best thing and accents are great etc. Welsh is realatively easy to pronounce ONCE you know how to say the alphabet as each letter is pronounced in the word (no silent options)! We also have 27 letters in the alphabet but don't have J/K/Q/V/X/Z ;-) That's the end of the Welsh lesson ;-) Keep on enjoying Ioan

Ioan bhí ar Graham Norton nuair a thosaigh "Fantasic 4" san amharclann. Dúirt sé gur theastaigh na táirgeoirí orthu rud éigin a dhéanamh ar a chuid "píosa troisc", go raibh sé ró-chraoladh. Is féidir leat a fheiceáil chun é seo leid sna gnéithe speisialta leis an bhfeithicil ag eitilt sa dara scannán. Labhraíonn sé freisin na Breataine Bige ar an seó, agus bhí sé an-te!

Ioan was on Graham Norton when "Fantastic 4" started in the theatres. He said that the producers wanted them to do something about his "cod piece", that it was too pronounced. You can see a clue to this in the special features with the flying vehicle in the second film. He also speaks Welsh on the show, and it was very hot!

According to imdb.com, his full name is pronounced "Yo-wahn Griffith."

According to Wikipedia, "he was inducted into the Gorsedd Beirdd Ynys Prydain (the Bardic Order of Great Britain) at the highest rank of druid in the National Eisteddfod at Meifod, Mid Wales, on 4 August 2003, with the bardic name 'Ioan.'"

Here's a quote from him (from imdb.com) regarding his costume for Horatio Hornblower: "The arses on the trousers aren't very tight. They're very loose and baggy and I like tight trousers."

Here are some bulge pics from Fantastic Four.
