No one noticed, since 3 days we have mass demonstrations in Iran. The government turned the internet off and tries everything that no informations leave the nation.

Reason for the protests is an increase of the gasoline price.

At least 12 killed at Iran petrol price protests

I noticed. Also Iraqis are rising up against Iranian influences in Iraq. Iran is also enriching fissionable materials. Trump was right to pull out of that worthless “ treaty” Obama signed with Iran.

As it is, this will be in time strictly be a problem for Europe. America no longer needs oil from the Middle East. We can shrink our Navy, we no longer have to patrol petroleum shipping lanes, we can say goodbye to Syria and the Kurds, we can let Europe deal with ocean piracy,

Shale oil is a game changing geo political tool. The US no longer needs the world. The world needs the US and Trump is saying “ take care of your own problems, we don’t need you.”

Read this book.

“Absent Superpower” the shale oil revolution and a world without America by Peter Zeihan.

In foreign policy what Trump is doing is what most future President’s will be doing, telling the world “ Solve your own problems.”

Trump pulling out of that worthless "treaty" Obama signed with Iran has certainly led to at least one tangible result: Iran enriching fissionable materials.

Can't you just see it now? The U.S. as the world's largest gated community! Let the rest of the world go to hell--what could possibly go wrong?

Not much. People living behind gated communities are quite safe and happy. If people didn’t envy people living behind gated communities, why are they trying to be like them by having income transferred to them?

Nope you are right but in the wrong way. Nothing will go wrong. Ask Barack Obama who lives behind protective walls. Or Nancy Pelosi. Haha.

The question is why they think they have to live in gated communities...
They destroyed the society so much, that they feel they have to protect themselves.

Same for the USA... they messed up the world so much that they think they have to isolate themselves.

And believe me, Europe, Russia, China and South America don't think they need the USA...
You know, Trump thinks he can threaten Germany by moving soldiers from Germany to Poland. The reality is, nothing would change if even the last US soldier would leave Germany, but for the USA it would change everything.
Without the US military bases in Germany the USA wouldn't be able to destroy the whole middle east and north Africa ;)

Das ist lustig. Destroy society?! Nein, nicht richtig.
Society is not destroyed, it is better than ever.

Why would the US want to destroy the Middle East? We do not need its oil.

Of course a country that stones gays and women and cuts off the fingers of thieves will live up to its treaties. I like it, I needed a good laugh. they were working to make the bomb even with the treaty.

More Mass shootings, more victims of violence, but the society prospers? What makes you think so...
And if it isn't a failed society, what do you think is the reason that people want to live in protected areas?
I mean, these gates communities come with a lots of disadvantages, but people still think it's worth the price...

Please, explain me.

I know, sounds schizophrenic, but is the truth.
Just think about the wars and interventions you had in the past 20 years and their results.

they were working to make the bomb even with the treaty.

I am not sure where you get your statistics. Crime has been falling in the US for years.

“In the United States, for example, violent crime rates have fallen by over 50% in many major U.S. cities since these rates peaked in the early 1990s; in New York City, these rates had dropped by 75% from the early 1990s to 2010.[15] In the United States, a second decline in the crime rate was also observed, with homicide rates declining first from 1994 to 2002, and then again from 2007 to 2011.[16] The crime rate in Los Angeles decreased from 1993 onward, including e.g. a decrease in the crime rate of 10% during the first six months of 1998.[

Your information is not correct. Violent crime is way down. Mass shootings are up but that isn’t a response to poverty but to mental illness.

Gated communities sind schlecht? Warum?

I don’t think anyone in the US considers SA a just society or our friend. They were a strategic ally and no more.

“””Last year, Israel displayed what it said were archives it secretly took from Iran which showed Iran continued to pursue nuclear weapons knowledge after 2015 - though Iran called the accusation "ridiculous".”””

I wouldn't want to live there... you ha e to tell the gate keeper who visits you and when, there are rules for your yard, the way you park your car, or you paint your house - depending on the community you live in...
Something I don't like.

Then tell me, why do you think people feel the need for this extra protection...

They do it to protect their property values. There are lots of rules, yes, but the goal is have uniform property values. I agree, it isn’t for everyone.

The lack of media coverage is shocking.

The internet shut down is at almost four days. There are many reports of abuses against protestors by the Iranian authorities. There are assertions that there are multiple massacres.

I do think the West should be reporting. However beyond this, what should the West actually do? The UK's experience in Iraq and elsewhere has been:
1) get involved
2) it gets messy
3) be condemned by the world for getting involved and blamed for absolutely everything that has gone wrong.

A problem for the UK has always been the geography of Iran. It is too far to the east, separated from Europe by the whole of Anatolia. Of course we would like a secular democracy. But seeing in a few troops somewhere isn't going to achieve that.
