IMO, a bulge and a VPL are two totally different things. A bulge is natural and there's no reason to hide it or even be concerned about it... ever. Being able to tell whether a guy hangs to the left or the right falls under the category of bulge.

I agree it can be inappropriate at times. I usually try to be discrete in public. But I still get a lot of stares/looks. it seems to me that the "look" today, in fashion trends, is for your junk to basically show. Personally a lot of factors will determine whether it is inappropriate. As you put it, there's visible and VISIBLE. I could imagine a lot of people will simply see it as anatomical, as many in this thread would suggest, then there would be another group of people who will outright reject the idea that VPL is acceptable in any circumstances. Upbringing, social conventions, culture, etc. I don't think there's any one standard on which to judge.
