Is Bar/club Hooking Up A Thing Of The Past?

Just curious what are everyones thoughts on this? Now of course the state of the world has changed this year with covid, But before all that it seems that the likelyhood of meeting someone out just for some fun nsa was becoming a scarce artform. I honestly don't remember the last time I met someone at a bar/club and had some fun with afterwards. Actually the last time that happened was a few years ago with a straightcurious/bi dude i met at a afrerhours dance party. We were both fucked up but that was a different story lol.
Apps (Grindr, scruff, etc) are the main reason i feel hooking up is way different nowadays. I miss the energy of meeting someone out and having something sexual occur naturally as opposed to just messaging someone ASL, haha (yah i know it does save time).

What are you guys thoughts? Do you miss the random one night stand encounters from a night out... or do you prefer the ease social apps provide. Also do you think after the pandemic gets better do u think it will go back to how things used to be when it comes to going out to find some dick?

With luck bar cruising will return, going on line, searching, finding and hooking up for sex is like getting a take away meal delivered, like one of those meals you prepare by adding hot water
Call me old fashioned but I do like to be chatted up and chat up first before committing to a 20 minutes frenzied sexual encounter before he goes off into the dark clutching his smart phone never to be seen again.

YES.

In fact, I will go on to say gay bars are becoming a thing of the past. Many of us back 30-50 years found comfort in the gay community and their gay bars. I was never a huge fan of drag shows and watching bad movies, however, this is what has defined many in the gay community. Going to gay bars, gay campgrounds, gay stores and gay vacations. Now that we live in a digital age I would say we are also post-gay. The millennials seem very bisexual. Some mainstream society people may cling to their 1950s (black/white) outlook on sexuality, but that is really a thing of the past.

If you like to dance or drag shows go to a gay bar, but not as a place to pick up men. I use to go out, be seen and leave and cruise for more raw and rugged sex somewhere else. I never really found guys to have sex with at the bars and I just frequented them socially.
