Shouldn't the pediatrician decide when it's safe to pull it back?
Don't they check to make sure the foreskin hasn't fused to the glans with a q-tip and determine Yes or no? (I'm asking because I don't know)

I can tell you that never happened with me. Pulling it back started was ready to happen - and certainly not when I was under 10. It was one of my body's last "Oh, hey! Look what this does!" moments.

The reason I say this is because what 4-5 yr old is going to do something that hurt a little bit. Most likely they won't.
It's the same as a shot. What kid is going to sign up for an immunization injection or dentist visit?

no doctor was involved in separating my hood from my head, it just happend on it's own, and i was around 8 or 9 i think. it was already coming loose before that though, all boys tug and pull on their willy even before they know what it's real purpose is and i was no exception. in the normal course of getting hard and rubbing partial separation occurs when you're younger.

I remember playing with mine and i felt it separate completely and when my foreskin fully retracted for the first time, that was the most amazing feeling i've ever had, and there wasnt' any pain involved it just kind of lifted away and rolled back. after that nobody needed to coach me to stretch it.....i worked it good and i've never had any trouble at all. I think it helped having a dad raising a crew of intact boys, who's also intact himself, he knew not to yank it back in the bath when we were infants/toddlers, and he never discouraged us from wanking as much as we felt like, your dik will tell you when it needs a rest.

People over think uncut soooo much, just let it be , nature is a fantastic engineer.

I'm ambivalent about my lost foreskin. I was cut as a newborn as that was the fashion in the time and city where I was born in the '70's. They did a lovely job and it's a nice clean line with plenty of slack (see my pics if you want). I often wonder though what my hood would have looked like. I envision a long fleshy anteater-like overhang, at least an inch or longer, lol.

Anyway, I'm not too fussed really as an adult. I don't feel wounded or cheated by my parents. Where I live now, it's more of a novelty because most people are natural. There are plenty of fetishes for cut cocks and I've never been turned away for having one. Besides, I've known quite a few men who have had to be circumcised in adulthood for various reasons, some even in their 40's and 50's.

Is it good or bad? I would say it's best to keep what nature has intended. But anyone who says it's mutilation is a bit OTT, so if parents want to cut their boys for cultural reasons, it really isn't going to impact them sexually or diminish their lives either. At least I can't tell if mine has been degraded, so I can only speak from my personal experience.

Good to know.
I would probably be one of those excessive/compulsive parents that holler "Did you wash your ass?? You better be squeaky clean before you hop in that bed!"

Wouldn't it get kinda funky smelling though by never retracting the foreskin or washing around the glans?

Hearing peoples experiences is helpful to get a better understanding of whats "Normal" and what's abnormal.

There ya have it Petite - Tug tug tug, just not in public lol.

Speaking of tugging in public, I've always noticed a very different urinal etiquette in the US versus Europe. In the US, you always hear about the "3 shake rule" which seems more appropriate for cut guys. However, uncut guys needs a bit more effort to get rid of the excess liquid. I notice in Europe, it's not uncommon to notice a guy literally milking the excess out of his foreskin at the urinal. Say maybe the equivalent of up to 15 shakes and squeezes. No this isn't cruising either. I think in the US, this would be really frowned upon to do in public and be highly "suspect".

Feedback on my observations?

Thank you everyone, that was really informative. I've read horror stories about ignorant pediatricians before who did damage and caused scar tissue, so now I'm better informed when I ask my pediatrician questions to find out if he knows what he's talking about.

It would absolutely get funky, but trust me on this: Washing under there is one of the funnest parts of bathing. Pavlovian conditioning kicks in and you learn to keep a rigorous schedule. ;)

That being said, the tissue that makes up the glans and the inside of the foreskin isn't actually skin; it's half-way between skin and a membrane, kind of like how the inside lining of your mouth is. And, as with the inside of your mouth, soap's not necessarily the best idea for washing underneath foreskin. Most of the time, a warm water rinse is all it really needs. Unless you're storing stuff down there or something...

I've watched a lot of circumcisions, and I've read a lot of literature. And I'm quite convinced on the dichotomy that it can be one of the worst things for a guy or one of the best things. The Devil is in the details. If it's done right it's a boon for you lovely boys.:heart::heart::heart::heart:

Why would I want to have part of my dick cut off? Women don't routinely have the hood or foreskin on their clitoris and inner labia cut away unless their Muslim fanatics in Africa.

Most of the time when I watch porn films, I used to avoid those with circumcised penises because I don't like watching them. I prefer uncut males in porn films as the glans look more purple and less dry than cut ones.

I don't know why? maybe because i'm uncut? or because uncut head look more arousing? or the natural gliding mechanism of the foreskin ? I thought and i concluded it's because we live in a visual world and watching foreskin gliding outside the vagina is the natural way.

Well, it's true that if you're uncut it's easier to roll the skin along the shaft to help squeeze out the last drops, so that's what a lot of intact guys prefer to do. It's probably the norm in Europe and usual but not universal among intact American guys, who may have learned technique from cut fathers or from emulating circumcised peers. It's certainly true of wanking patterns.

If you know what you're seeing, it's pretty easy to spot an intact guy from behind at a urinal by his arm movement. Ditto for the sound of the stream, in most cases.

To start with I believe it was a religious action of obedience. Then somebody along the way discovered it was easier to keep things clean and the smell down. I'm cut. I lost my extra skin when I was 14. It was supposed to be part of a corrective necessity for my hypospadias. (That did not work). The result was the hole further down the frenulum resulting in me having to sit to pee the rest of my life and no feeling at the frenulum.
I'm of the opinion that if there is no real pressing medical problem leave the man/child alone as God designed him to be. The hooded penis is awesome!! The first few years of adolescence was great. The times to was my little guy were fun.
For those who have never had a foreskin, think soft lips moving over your glans every time you pee or get hard.
LEAVE THE CHILD INTACT!!!!

Infant circumcision is always wrong as there is no consent from such a young child.

If an adult chooses to get circumcised for appearance reasons, then theres nothing wrong with that.

Besides appearance, there are no valid medical reasons to carry out circumsisions, and most infant circumcisions are done by unqualified religious rabbis / priests.

In the UK there have also recently been hundreds of cases of child female genital mutilation per yer for some time now, mainly done amongst Somalian refugees. A practice which is illegal here, but the law has done absolutely nothing about it.

I've done it for medical reasons when I was younger. So in my opinion it is very good! I am very out from all this religious stuff. It is not only for appearance obviously!

Oh right, I forgot about foreskins that are too tight, but most people that get circumcised dont even have that. So if its needed for medical or appearance issues, fine. But in most cases its parents forcing the operation onto their infant sons, a practice which should have been made illegal a long time ago ... But even then the law would barely care to enforce such a law.
