Do you think that the England has failed as a nation in everything and as a people? Failed in looking after its people, failed in business and industry, failed in its position in the world, failed in developing its potential, failed as a leading nation in technology, trade and commerce, failed in developing its own infrastructure, etc.

England definately doesnt have the Midas touch in everything, cos basically, everything it touches is doomed to failure!

No, I don't agree with that. England is a good, strong country that has the same problems as everywhere else. I wouldn't say we're doomed to failure at all - that's more than a slight exaggeration.

I can't say I know too much about English current affairs but I wouldn't argue against the USA being a failure right now. I propose a mass exodus to Canada, they seem to be doing okay.

"Failed nation" seems a gross exaggeration, intended to provoke. What's your game here?

If you went to school there, you can add their educational system to the list, "cos" it has "definately" failed you.

Seriously, any country's success or failure happens through the attitudes and diligence of its people, and there are enough great people in England to overcome the inertia of ignorant deadwood like you.

Actually, they're pretty funny, like this one, where he describes what it's like having an imaginary e-penis that's 8x8 soft, 10x12 hard, though when he's really excited it's a full 12" long. LOLOL!

The UK is about 1% of the world's population. Thier performance as such has been quite remarkable and still is in every sphere that you mention. Do you know any of the facts?

The UK is not without faults and certainly needs to improve in many areas, but a failure, mmh, you'll have to look at Scotland to see what happens when sovereignty fails.

Lol, that's hilarious. I'd written off the OP as a waste of space. In fact the post you linked to is genuinely entertaining. That'll teach me for jumping to conclusions.:biggrin1:

Give him a break, Drifter. He's short on facts, but long in penis statistics.

If the OP is English, I think that fact may be adding a great deal of support to his thesis.

    England or the UK?

No. It's adapting to its new position in the world, but still has many positive and inherent qualities to call on.
