^ this is the best film on religion ever made.
Monty Python also did the Holy Grail, which is the best film about the middle ages ever made.
I don’t think anyone who continues to visit LPSG would disagree with the idea that “Porn is not “real life”, but it sure can be fun.”
This is especially true for those who have some great sexual memories they would like to relive. Or for those who are able to full fill life-long aspirations of showing or viewing another person’s sexual body parts and pleasures. Or for people just discussing things often seen as having a Pornographic nature and learning from those discussions.
Best of all LPSG is composed of members who generally share a common core of sexual interest and experiences and who are able to participate with other members in shared events. For example; there is that special video on Porn Hub that is a total turn on or describes how someone looks or feels or would like to behave. (viewing this is almost like participating)
There is no denying that the Porn nature of LPSG has its therapeutic value, as long as we just remember, “Porn is not real”. That said, one interesting fact about human beings is that we are the only creatures (we know of) who can use our mental powers and “see” ourselves at another place and time and “feel” ourselves in that moment. This may be the first or only way someone get to participate in one of life's great adventures.
If these same metal powers should allow George Carlin, Rodney Dangerfield, Robin Williams, or Andrew Dice Clay to focus their satirical attention to the kind of Porn presented on LPSG, the result would be hilarious. No doubt it would focus on the contrast between some degree of reality and people’s behaviors on LPSG.
One positive aspect of this humor is that it requires the viewer to have some knowledge of the topic before they can appreciate the satire. So there is reason to find humor in Monty Python’s view of world events. His highly skilled entertainment mode is built on rubbing some actual historical events against his distorted or extreme views.
Take a dominant problem from today’s news, that of the Covid-19 virus. The dominant question is, "is there a formula for creating a permanent vaccine for the Covid-19 Virus"? We hope there is, but best research so far indicates the answer is no. Monty Python could be having a field day with this human condition and our current untrustworthy moments in science. Just think about where he might have us wearing that mask (Especially since farts can carry the virus.).
So, just because “science or the scientific process” has not found “God” does that mean there is no God. Has science answered all the questions? Hummm—don’t think so!
We should be humbled by what we don’t know.
