I think that’s easy to work out. Just Google Bishop Bernard Law.
Good old Cardinal Law. Covered up the boston archdiocese abuse, and as “punishment” was given a position at the Vatican.

Fled Boston for life of luxury in the Vatican. Nice promotion all while children suffered in his pastoral care.
He didn’t even need to flee, he was gifted a highly sought after position for letting children be raped by his staff. That’s Christianity for ya!

You are doing the same thing that you are so quick to condemn when they are talking about gays.
Not at all, over 30,000 complaints are many more it’s endemic in the church. It’s been covered up and lied about for decades. So please cut the crap.

Cut what crap? You are full of shit and don’t know what you are talking about. Did a percentage of priests commit crimes absolutely but to say the majority is a full out lie. The same could be said of other religions and organizations. You need to cut the crap. You don’t know what the hell you are talking about.

you say there have been 30,000 complaints. Well if you take the 51,000,000 Catholics in the US that means .0006 were affected. Please tell me how that is a majority. Again, you don’t know what the hell you are talking about.

if you say so, I don’t care about your opinion, it’s been happening for many years and around the world. In fact where ever the Catholic Church is. And as for Africa what the Pope did which killed millions, but hey it’s okay. Who cares about all the ruined children and dead from aids. Let’s blame the gays for it.

This is America (just America)

Focusing on the United States, the two speakers provided estimates suggesting that the American church has spent at least $2.2 billion settling litigation related to the crisis, and that there may have been as many as 100,000 total victims of clerical sexual abuse.

While the Catholic Church has faced lawsuits around the world over allegations of clergy abuse, how much the Catholic Church has paid in settlements worldwide has never been determined. However, according to the nonprofit organization Bishop Accountability, the church has paid out more than $3 billion in major settlements and awards in the United States. Some groups believe this number underestimates by nearly $1 billion the actual cost to the U.S. church for covering up clergy abuse for nearly a half-century.

While it may not technically be the majority, you cannot deny the fact that the abuse was being done, and it was being a) covered up b)victims were being silenced and c)the corruption went all the way up to the Vatican. That leads people to believe/assume that the majority at minimum knew about it and did nothing, which in cases like this, is compliance.

Do you know what Pope Benedict said that killed millions, the charming man who Africa listen to every word. Let me refresh your memory:
In March 2009, on his flight to Cameroon (where 540,000 people have HIV), Pope Benedict XVI explained that Aids is a tragedy "that cannot be overcome through the distribution of condoms, which even aggravates the problems".

Africa is one of the most catholic countries in the world, millions die of aids every year and he stated this. Then you carry on as if people should pretend it’s all rosey and lovely. Pull the other one, have you met victims of sexual abuse, have you seen the completely destroyed lives - I did during my psychiatry attachment, most are ruined for life. But then I doubt you give a shit.

Ok I am not dismissing the fact that it happened or that it was wrong. What I have a problem with is 5gat you stated the majority of the priests committed crimes. That is factually incorrect. Just like any other faith or organization there have been issues but because it is the Catholics and how deep their pockets are we hear the most about them. Think of how the majority of the clergy who are good people whose only wish is to help people. Are we going to throw them in with the bad ones? And what about the Boy Scouts? They are having a big class action suit.

I don’t deny the fact the abuse happened. I don’t deny there was a coverup. And, most importantly I believe it was completely wrong, and anyone involved whether committing the crime or covering it up should be prosecuted. That includes the pope himself. I just have a problem with the statement that the majority were involved.

And Benedict was wrong. He comes from the same generation as Reagan who thought that AIDS was a gay disease and it was ok for gays to die. When it comes to sexual abuse, you don’t know what I experienced as a child nor do you know me. So for you to assume that I don’t know about abuse is very naive and tunnel vision.

So where are all the billions of catholics calling for this to end; very quiet. Oh trust me, if you had been abused they never trust men again. I’ve met patients who’s entire lives are destroyed and ruined. They can’t form friendships, will never have someone touch them and are terrified. We had one guy who was abused from a young age by his uncle, he was sectioned under the mental health act and remained in there for years.
And as for aids, don’t use age as an excuse. The millions who suffered and still suffer in Africa to be told by an idiot who thinks he represents God on earth.
