I'm doesn't afraid this thread is preposterous.

I'm doesn't the issue is that Gore is leveraging politics and fame to line his pockets, yet doesn't live the 'green' lifestyle that he has frightened millions into living. His is one of excess, comfort and luxury. Green be damned.

What does that have to do with Dick?

What does that have to do with Dick?

The suggested implication by many that he used political strings to steer business toward Halli.

Don't want to start down that road - which I could argue for days on end - but in a sentence; Lining one's pockets in the private sector thru public service positioning

I'm doesn't believe that is the reason Gore has gone on to promote the issue of global warming, or climate change, as much as it is a happy byproduct. He has a well-documented 20 or more year career of passionate involvement in advancement of the cause.

Gore is spreading the message of climate change, and I really don't understand how anyone thinks it's not happening. A great example of climate change can be seen in the northern Canada where the Inuit people can no longer cross bodies of water that use to freeze over and now no longer give them the avenue they need to get to hunting grounds. Climate change is always occurring, but it and carbon dioxide levels are changing at an alarming rate right now. Please don't belittle Gore or his cause unless you've got some legitimate proof, like a scholarly reviewed scientific journal article that rejects climate change concerns.

Could Dick Cheney be described as a Nobel prize winner who never shot anybody?

Did Al Gore ever deliberately make an effort to publicly undermine the decisions of the government in power after he left office?

If only Cheney were more like Gore...

oh star, you disappoint me. This is some weak-ass shit.
Making money off investing in green technology versus having the stock of your company go up several hundred percent after starting two wars. If you can't see the difference, you need help.

My pleasure.

According to the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado, Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007 – and even the most committed global warming activists do not dispute this.

fyi Cheney sold most of his Halliburton stock before either war was started. So what is the argument now - that he wanted his former secretary at halliburton to get rich so he started two wars?

Cheney cashes in Halliburton stock

Your article refers to a time when Cheney sold less than half of his Halliburton stock, as opposed to "most of" that stock. He still had a great deal of Halliburton investements which made him very rich as a result of war profiteering.

24. Cheney?s Halliburton Stock Rose Over 3000 Percent Last Year | Project Censored

Why would he have sold ANY if he were calculating this worldwide conspiracy to boost the stock price?

He would have been buying more.

Stock options are are granted and not able to be exercised over a certain time period. Lets say you work for Halliburton today and stock options are a part of your compensation plan. You may not be able to exercise them for up to 10 years. You can't sell if you wanted to.

That Halliburton argument is so ridiculous I laugh out loud any time someone whines about it.

Who was more deserving of the contracts than Halliburton and why?

god i hate it, Haliburton was one of the few companies that was equipped a job on that scale. Then they took all their money and moved to Dubui.

Haliburton's new hometown is "we're not accountable to the US taxpayer for any of the money we were paid for our contracts in Iraq." That's easy to spell, and even easier to understand. One more legacy of ol' buckshot (DC).

Hehe.

Duc. C'mon. You know better.

That was a strategic growth relocation. They are still incorporated in Delaware, and still pay U.S. taxes on all revenue.

Enuff time in this asylum and even level-headed folk start getting hypnotized by the cooky libs...

That's not what he asked for, highlighted in red. Plus, you get bonus points for linking the Daily Mail. You do realize that it's like linking a climate change article in the NY Post, right? A shitty secondhand account with no link to the primary data is shit.

Try again, this time with an actual, scholarly, peer-reviewed primary source.

I eagerly await your complaints about the peer-review process when you cannot find one.

All too easy. Do you even read your links?

From the very link you posted:

The Forum on Physics and Society is a place for discussion and disagreement on scientific and policy matters. Our newsletter publishes a combination of non- peer- reviewed technical articles, policy analyses, and opinion. All articles and editorials published in the newsletter solely represent the views of their authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the Forum Executive Committee.

The FPS Executive Committee strongly endorses the position of the APS Council that "Emissions of greenhouse gases from human activities are changing the atmosphere in ways that affect the Earth's climate."
