You mean liberals quote evidence and conservatives make it up?
Not necessarily however in this forum it is quite to see a certain poster always use "I heard" or "I read" before posting his "thoughts". When pressed to tell where he "read" something he vanishes only to reappear later with a different meaningless post.

My take on the OP is that most liberals are more likely to search for information that supports their statements or beliefs whereas for most conservatives it's enough to go on belief alone. Going to any source that doesn't already support their view i.e. Twitchy or Breitbart is tantamount to treason. The conservatives who cite unbiased or non TP leaning sources among many others are the ones that generally invite true debate. The Twitchy loyalists are the ones we consider tin foil wearing loons.

I can already see HM popping in to claim that ALL conservatives were condemned by my statement above

-Ronald Reagan

Nice quote from the man who introduced the American electorate to the word "disinformation".

BTW Middle class wages in the US have stagnated in direct proportion to the adoption of "trickledown" economic policies popularized by Reagan.

And, of course, Conservative voters are also proven to be "low information" voters. That is, the segment of the population who is most ignorant both of the world around them, and the actual effect of the policies they support.

Proven. Pretty big word there.

and conservatives like honey mustard are too busy consuming drugs to keep their state of unreality on constant guard, in order to keep out any facts or events that might challenge their self-induced coma.

Too far Cruz.:tapedshut: I'm no fan of H0ney and do constantly question his level of intelligence, but unless you have proof you should not call him a drug user.

Proven. Pretty big word there.

Actually- its only 3 letters. as words go, very small.

But, Yes, its actually proven.

The only disagreement on that comes from the same crowd of people who do not believe in evidentiary argument. That is, They deny the very concept of proof, entirely. Which is a logical oxymoron... because they ( and you ) can cite no "proof" to the contrary, since you do not agree that any amount of evidence constitutes proof. Their argument is that since proof doesn't count, they can't be proven wrong.

Its the original meaning of the word "imbecile".

Its no accident that the same doofi who propound on Trickle-down economics are the group that deny global warming, and deny evolution.

Here's the way to tell someone is full of it.

Can their opinions on matters of fact be entirely predicted by where they get their money from?

The Trickle downers get their re-election money from ignorant bible thumpers, and from the monied elite to whom trickle down economics transfers vast wealth and power.

hmmm.

Whereas, I fully understand that DOING something about global warming will require sacrifice from me, personally- both in taxation, and making life generally a bit more complicated and costly.

My positions are based upon what the facts and 'proof' tell me. Not upon supporting any particular status quo, nor evading any potential personal cost.

The Kock bros 'beliefs' happen to be the beliefs that result in the greatest financial and political benefit to THEM personally.

how convenient.

Is it just me . . . Or does it appear that the libs here are always angry, spewing venomous hate, and nasty words and accusations? Always have to post using BOLD, caps, super size fonts, all sorts of completely "unbiased" sources and links, while accusing everyone else of being stupid and ignorant to the issues? Honestly, don't see similar tones from the crazy, right wing extremists. Is it that they have more class than the libs, or just know how to better control their tempers?

Thank God (oops, not allowed to invoke his name, unless applied to the POTUS) they are so smart because we are all so stupid. Whew.

Is it just me?

It's just you.

the funny thing about conservatives is they are always accusing others of the things of which they, themselves, are most guilty.

They accuse liberals of being fiscally irresponsible... but its the Conservatives who want to default on the debt... conservatives who started two wars and cut taxes, creating massive deficits ( conservatives who have racked up 70% of the deficit ) Conservatives who utterly failed to foresee and prevent the financial collapse created by conservative deregulation efforts over 30 years and conservatives who then BAILED OUT the private debt of the banks they allowed to become to big to fail and then failed to adequately police.

And you want vitriol and hate? Watch ANY random hour of FoxNews... and listen to how they talk about liberals and the duly elected president.

Or listen to what they say about immigrants, the poor, Nancy Pelosi, or liberals.

Pop quiz... which group of people most frequently accuse the people who disagree with them politically of being "hitler" or "Nazis" ?

conservatives, that's who.

Yes. From what I've seen, American right wing pols tend to make shit up more than liberals. Not to say that liberals don't mind you.... just not to the same extent. But what is more interesting is how throughly conservative voters believe what they are told. I have many republican American friends that keep telling me how much better fiscally conservative Republicans are a "managing the economy". LOL. We've been having these discussions since Carter was president and in spite of everything that has happened (especially during the Bush years), they still are telling me (and believing) the same myths. I've come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a fiscally conservative Republican politician. They are all talk. When given the chance at power become radical "borrow and spend" maniacs.

They (the people I know), are really invested in these political beliefs that not grounded in fact, or reality, or in history. When I ask them to explain what was fiscally conservative about the last Republican administration, they can't. I get back gobbledygook. Last month when I was in Florida, an old classmate actually tried to convince me that the US economy was in better shape in 2008/09 than it is today! I couldn't stop laughing. We just had to stop and got wasted on some Wild Turkey instead.

Seriously. You don't believe liberals hold onto their believes as strongly as conservatives? Of course they do. Of course you think conservatives believe everything they are told (code for: because they are too dumb to think on their own. Yep, liberals speak in code too!). You aren't going to sway any conservatives here, just as they won't be able to sway you. But to imply that their political leaning is any less valuable, is myth, is all talk or not grounded in reality is your opinion, and is just rude and dismissive of other peoples views.

It's very important to accuse someone of something before they accuse you. It puts the other person on the defensive. It's a win-win for the low information voters whose numbers never cease to amaze me.
