The double-standard is so true. Almost every woman that I know is unashamedly open about complimenting their friends on their amazing tits, often describing what they like about them in intimate detail - whereas anything more than a very mild compliment or tease passing between close male friends would likely cause great offence.

I will never understand this. If I tell you that you have a small cock, you get offended (and rightly so); if I say you have a big one, you take offence again, what the fuck do you want to be told?!? There are other things that are REALLY offensive, learn to appreciate compliments!

What the hell is this rant about and why has it been directed at me (or have you just accidentally quoted the wrong posting)? If not, then read the comment in the context that it was made (which, incidentally, was a general observation and not a comment aimed at you in the first place - it was in reply to, and supporting, another poster). What on earth are you on about: "what the fuck do you want to be told" and "learn to appreciate compliments"? I hadn't been offended at anything in the first place (until this pointless tirade at me, for no obvious reason). Don't be so aggressive towards people that you weren't even involved in a discussion with.

Listen, if I was aggressive you don't seem to be any less; if you were in doubt about where my answer came from and to whom it was addressed, you could have asked me to explain my comment in a more polite way.

However, there has a been a misunderstanding and I apologize for that: English is not my mother tongue and in mine you can use "you" to say something to somebody generally speaking.

(Therefore, I wrote "you" not to say "You, Nimbus" but with the meaning of "You, typical straight male who gets angry, bla bla bla and who is reading here".)

As far as I have been reading and listening so far, I had understood that this is possible in English too, but either I was wrong or you didn't consider this possibility. It just happens.

Well, in any case I am reading my post again and I must admit I may have been far too abrupt, so once again I apologise for this misunderstanding.

While on a nude beach before, I have received a coupe of compliments on my size from guys, but after they had sat with me and my ex for quite awhile talking and usually while I was semi. Once after a work out at the gym, in the showers I was hard and a guy said "pretty blessed" as he was leaving the showers. In each instance I just thanked them each for the compliment. Never made me uncomfortable or feel as though some sort of boundary had been crossed.

Here at LPSG, yes...in the real world, might be awkward...

...but should we ask ourselves why is it, should it be awkward? Who or what in society determined this?

"Nice hair cut, pretty eyes, great sideburns, nice ass, look at those biceps"

Why not, "nice dick"??

I have a friend who I have seen naked at the beach and has a large bulge in his jeans. I almost complimented him he other day but I was afraid he would get uncomfortable. (I am not interested in him sexually) would this weird you out?
depends person to person
most men I know would laugh it out while the stuck up ones would get mad about it
