Is penis size hereditary?

My older brother's cock is definitely smaller than mine (something he's never been very happy about, I might add).

I did fool around with a couple of male (1st) cousins when I was a teenager and one cousin on my dad's side had a cock that was absolutely identical to mine. My cousin on my mother's side was very average - but very goodlooking!

My sister has two young sons. She says the older one's penis is smaller then the younger boy's, which she says is quite "girthy." The younger boy is much smaller in stature and build than his older brother was at his age, and was born with one testicle as well.

Presumably the younger boy takes after his father, my brother-in-law, who is a pretty small, slight guy himself. My ex-girlfriend saw my brother-in-law naked once (we all lived together at one time) and said he was pretty average, so maybe his son doesn't take after him. My sister's father (my step-dad) is himself hung average. I saw him naked a lot growing up, but he stopped that when my brother and I grew taller than him.

As for my side of the biological family, I haven't seen anyone naked. My biological father left when I was quite young and only recently came back into my life. I didn't think it tasteful to ask him how he's hung. He and my half-brother do have larger feet than me though, so maybe they're bigger than me as well! My full brother is pretty identical to me in height and foot size, so I'm assuming we're identical in size (haven't seen him naked since we took baths together as a kid).

Another topic up for debate and I wrote about this two years ago. I believe that it is hereditary and in my case it comes from my fathers side. My grandfather and I were about the same size (and I have big balls) but i have to this day never seen baaalls as big as his in a movie magazine anywehre. My father was big as well probably about ten+ and thick and my brother about 9-10 inches. We had a very open house growing up we did not flaunt it but if we were naked we werenaked.
My brother is also gay as are five cousins on my moms side of the family and via The Universitey of Indiana we are in a study for gay brotheres. You can either contact them be e-mail or call, then they send you a 25 page questionanre and a release form than another questionare and then they send you everything you need to have blood drawn and even send you to a lab closest to you ( i knew where it was) but was surprised when they picked the one closest tome. I am convinced it is hereditary. I got the genes from both sides of my family as both of my grandfathers were exceptionally huge as was my father, his two brothers, uncles, and cousins, and my mothers brothers, uncles and cousins. I am the oldest son of my father and my younger brothers are also huge, along with the five cousins I know about. I have other cousins, but I have no idea and have seldom seen them, and most I have not seen in decades.

Big Ben : I disagree with you on your post that size is from both sides of the family. My dads side I am so greatful to words cannot express. As I have said many times my grandfather( same as me except his balls @ 85 were the biggest orbs I have ever seen in my life), my dad was big as well about ten inches my guess, and my brother is two inches shorter than me. So we are all content.
My mothers side of the family is a differnt story she has twin brothers 6'4" both and I bet four inches hard. With out going into complete detail all cousins on that side of the family (lol) in there underwear they are completley flat in the front not a dent, hint of a bulge or anything. Baffling!

I guess that I always assumed that it was hereditary. I found out recently that the 7 year old son of one of my friends has a "freakishly big cock" by her description. The boost of hormones thing is interesting. I wonder quite a lot how big my penis would be if I was full term and not 12 and a half weeks early. Maybe my I'll still grow, but my thinking was that being born premature, I would develop later, because I missed development as a foetus. Yet I matured around 12 or 13, like everyone else. So it does seem like I'm fully grown...

I also think if I had a son and he was bigger than me then that would be proof that proper and timely development in the womb is a factor. Anyway I spose it is majorly and mainly hereditary, penis size...

14x8thck, please reread my post. You are disagreeing with something I did not say/write. I did NOT write it was "always" from both sides of the family. I simply wrote that "I am convinced it is hereditary" and then gave the example of genetics at work in my own personal situation. In my situation I obviously seem to have inherited it from both sides of my family as the males on both my fathers and mothers side are very endowed. I never implied or wrote that it is always from both sides of the family.

I would say that there is at least some genetic component. My husband is very large. He has mentioned that his brother is smaller than him but is still very large. He has only seen his dad soft but said that he seems large as well.

Perhaps you need to consider that the penis itself is not only a sexual organ. I mean, it's just a body part ultimately. It's also used for urination, and most of the time it's just flapping around and not doing anything in particular.

No trait can be entirely genetic. Even eye colour requires an interaction between genes and the external environment at some basic level. To say penis size is hereditary is just people aligning themselves into the nature/nurture categories, which were discarded decades ago. My guess is that penis size has some small genetic predispositional component, but that the environment strongly controls how much of this is expressed. The genetic component and environmental component are never at fixed values anyway. But if you are one of those people who can only live with categories, and if the categories are "is it inherited" or "is it not inherited" (where the latter category means a constant domination of environment over genetic predisposition over the course of one's life), then the answer is it isn't inherited. Yes, hands down.

I'm not saying that every son will have a penis the same size as his father's. I think most people get what I'm saying.

Yes, this is a somewhat unusual topic, by the way. It seems rather unnecessary in some ways. It's pretty obvious that it would have to do with heredity, because everything else does.

Was this serious? Even if some classes of genes are only activated by certain environmental conditions, you still consider this hereditary? And do you consider it hereditary given that the results aren't identical (ie. you aren't the exact same height as your father, or the exact same build, or have the exact same hair distribution on your body)?
