In a sense some of it might be. I mean, I've some where I ask why the hell a chick would sign up to be treated like shit. for example, this one jack ass, Jeremy Irons I think is his name. The porn I watch varies.
I like the Bel Ami series for its pretty boy factor but it gets old quickly. I have posted a thread in the Et Cetera section in January, with an excerpt called "10 lies about porn". Some of these lies can be tied in when the degree of degradation is being judged.

And a strong limitation put on your past-porn career life: There are only few women who can tie in a successful career with their porn career.

Neither do I, which is why I prefer watching gay porn to heterosexual porn. Most heterosexual porn is created for men, not women, and I think that's why. Gay male porn is created for men, but even with the dominant/submissive roles they sometimes play, I don't see much degradation involved.
