I lurk the threads of this site and similar other sites and it makes me wonder is monogamy in a relationship a thing of the past ? I mean there is a rise in popularity of swingers clubs as of the last couple of years , there are more and more couples that seek to find people to join them in bed. Is this a way of the world to say that one sexual partner is not always enough ? Also when someone spends years having 3somes and moresomes , is it hard for said person to commit in a monogamous relationship? I mean the " can't teach an old dog new tricks " mentality, I think it'll be hard for someone to make a drastic change in lifestyle such as this one, especially if said person has lived it for many years. At the end of the day is monogamy that bad ?

I am married and sometimes use humans as sex toys. Sometimes you just want a change of pace. Monogamy is not for everyone.

I think monogamy is alive and well. my family is all in successful marriages and I plan to marry one day.

I dont think we are any more stuck with "caveman" brain and we all just want to fuck all the time for survival. We clearly are aware we dont need to produce babies all the time to survive. In fact I think we are all acutely aware that humans are destroying our planet and less humans would be better for survival. And I think now it just comes to personal preference we have more choice than ever before. choose monogamy or not, many still choose it, some dont, but i dont think there is any particular evolutionary drive towards one or the other. I believe these our now conscious decisions that people make based on their own situations and I still think the majority of people like a stable close and trusting relationship with a partner who loves them.
