What is it that puts you in the Christmassy mood?

For me, it doesn't feel like Christmas until... I've heard The Pogues and Kirsty McColl on the radio singing Fairytale of New York!

It doesn't feel like Christmas until we have our tree put up. We aren't putting one up this year because it's currently in storage.:frown1:

I have to put up the tree and start baking and listening to the tunes of the season...works like a charm for me.

It doesn't feel like Christmas until...

    • ...when there is snow on the ground.
    • ...the Christmas baking and holiday dinner gets done.
    • ...the Christmas tunes are being played on the radio on Christmas Eve.
    • ...all Christmas decorations are up.
    • ...shopping is done and the gifts are wrapped NICELY.:smile:
    • ...you get invited to some Christmas parties and/or have one for a change.
    • ...you have to buy that one ten dollar gift for the company gift swap party.
    • ...you run out of Christmas wrap and you resort to using torn out magazines.
    • ...you watch "Charlie Brown's Christmas" and "A Christmas Story" on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
    • ...realize that sometimes you can buck tradition and you can make the holidays however you like for a change. You don't have to give a gift. You can do whatever you want to do. You don't have to be around family. You can be with your friends.

David Bowie and Bing Crosby destroy my eardrums and sanity with that horrendously boring rendition of "Little Drummer Boy"

Bah Humbug, I hate Christmas music. It doesn't feel like Christmas till Dec. 24th when my family gets together for Christmas Eve dinner.

-I've watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas" (did that today)
-The tree is up and lit (weekend after Thanksgiving)
-We've driven around to look at the lights
-I've heard some REAL Christmas music (none of the cutesy, poppy stuff)
-It's Christmas eve, dark & cold, and the family is together to eat prime rib and open gifts (hopefully my mother won't give me another tacky, singing, animatronic thing)
-This year, I'm most looking forward to the quiet time I'll get to spend alone with my BF after the crazy of my family on Christmas eve and before a really busy Christmas day with his.
