Guys and gals, we've all had a short time or a lifetime of relationships and they can't all have been ideal.

Tell us about the worst date you ever had - the one that still wakes you up in the middle of the night screaming and in a cold sweat.

One of the tricks to developing better self esteem is learning to block out those memories!

I'll post my bad flashbacks here as they come up...

When I was 20 or 21, I took a cutie to see Broadcast News with William Hurt. As we're sitting there waiting for the movie to start, he turns to me and says "It's sad how all the theaters are owned by Jews these days."

Let's just say there was no second date.

Well I've had 2 dates in my life and neither of them were spectacular, but neither were awful. Just conversation over dinner and goodbye.

I kind of alluded to my worst date in one of my first posts. Over dinner on a blind date he blurts out. "I can't wait 'til later, I've heard how big you guys are." We had been getting along pretty well up 'til then, although I hadn't considered sex on the first date as an option. If that wasn't bad enough, his ex comes into the restaurant on a date with Young Twink Clone #1487, and winds up at the next table. The rest of dinner was filled with barbs back and forth between the two of them as to who scored a better date. I think I was in the lead as first prize due to my alledged size, but when my excruciating migraine sudden flared up, it cut the evening short....

I would probably have given the other guy a headache. With my dinner plate.

just two years ago (when i was twenty), i was dating a very pretty girl; however, her comeliness was not at all an indication of her level of intellect, as she was very much a simpleton.

at any rate, i put up with this lame-brained behavior (which she had no reservations about publicly displaying) for roughly a year. the straw that broke the camel back was this exchange we had one night at a restaurant:

Me: "actually julianne, i like my steak medium-rare."
Julianne: [pauses for a moment with a rather quizzical look on her face] "...so would it be silly to ask what large or small-rare is?"

Me: [gently touches her cheek] “sweetheart, let’s get the check…”

i haven’t seen her since ... she may have fallen into a hole.

The worst date I ever had? Mmmmm...........that's a tough one,I've had a few,but this one had got to take the cake:

It happened about four years ago,my dearest girlfriend whom I shall call "Maggie" set me up on a blind date with her handsome cousin, whom I will call "David",he had just moved to the area from out of state and wanted to get to know some people.
We went out,I showed him around the city and we went to a few clubs,he was a perfect gentleman and we had a wonderful time,I definately wanted to see him again.
He was driving me home(in his shiny red BMW no less)when he was pulled over by the police,he was going 70 in a 65 MPH speed zone,no big deal,I thought,he'll just get a ticket and we'll be on our way again.
But it did not turn out that way,the cop asked us to step out of the car,it turned out "Mr.Wonderful" had an arrest warrant from out of state for sexual assault,it turned out my friend had set me up with a rapist.
And that is my worst date EVER.............................................

My story is similar to Honey_grrl's but different obviously.:biggrin1:

I was set up on a blind date by a friend of a friend. Why not right? You are only young once. So, I go to pick her up, and this girl is pretty, and after a bit of talking.. I find out she is quite smart (always a bonus) and a NURSE  We go to dinner, and then to a movie.

For dinner, I took her to this chinese place. Great food (usually). Half way through the movie, I decide to put my hand on her leg. Just casually as we are getting along really good. I look at her, she leans over to me and says
" Jeff.. I think I am gonna ......" and throws up on my shoulder and chin. I freaked out, and yelled in shock. She starts crying and runs to the bathroom.. not before throwing up again in the aisle.

I get myself as clean as possible in the bathroom, and take her home.. as we are driving, she asked me to pull over. I did.. she throws up for a quite a while outside my car. A cop drives by, and pulls over, and then asks me if she has been drinking and such. I explained to him the situation.. and thought he looked doubtful at me, he recognised my name as my family is faily well known by the police, ( my dad is best friends with the "sheriff".) and sent us on her way.

Turns out my lovely date had food poisioning from the chinese!! She never did call back.:biggrin1:

both my junior and senior prom dates. What complete disasters! And 3rd place to a girl named L---a, (i was a college freshman at the time) whose idea of a fun time was going to see a female impersonator show at a Bourbon Street club.

Not a "date", but the worst one-night-stand I ever had:

Freshman year in college (the drinking age in NC was 19 at the time, so I was legal) -- got hit on at a bar by a guy named Jerry in his early-to-mid 20's, and he invited me back to his place. It was the first time I'd been 'invited back' by any guy at the clubs, and I was a little too flattered to have good judgement. So I said yes.

His place turned out to be almost 45 minutes away, and by the time we got there it was midnight. The place was really dark, and the only light he had was a small table lamp, so you couldn't see much of it.

Yeah, we had sex, and he was decent enough to let me stay over and not have to drive back at 2-3 am in the morning. By daybreak, though, there was plenty of light coming through the windows and I had a much better look about the place. In his room were several boxes of Klan literature.

I wanted to throw up -- I left his place, even before he had woken up. Never spoke to him again, and never even went back to that club. I still cringe to tell that story.

A lunch date (thank goodness, so no sex was ever on the cards) with a guy who'd been quite persistent in wanting to "meet up and do something together". He really wasn't my cup of tea either in terms of looks or voice (both way too prissy for my tastes), but eventually I relented. All was going reasonably numbly until the point where I suddenly heard him say "my congregation", and realized that I was getting sexual come-ons from a priest. And no, I never gave him the rosary job he wanted.

OK im 19 for a start, i went out with this 30 year old guy, we hit it off on the phone he seemed nice.

Anyway we went on our date to a coffee shop, things were going well, and then he pulls out a psp in the middle of the coffee shop and shows me how to play the harry potter game on it, not just quietrly but very loud yelling out the names of the spells i needed to cast to get past certain places, others in the shop were looking at us with weird looks, i just wanted to hide. I high tailed it out there pretty quick, i had an emergency guy waiting, to ring me with an emergency, i got outta there haha.

thats my worst date so far, i havent been on many im sure ill have many more bad ones to come :p

Honey: I'm glad you came out of the situation intact, and I hope that particular friend got a royal chewing! (And not in the good way...)

Mindseye: I cringe to think of that happening to me! Although it doesn't seem too likely he would have picked me up in the first place. BTW, I thought we SOMEWHAT agreed it was ok to out those types?

    Alex: >>>shudder<<<

KoolKat: Ok, I MAY have done something similar, but it wasn't until several dates in, I swear!!!

Was a blind date, went to dinner then to a local bar to talk to friends. the usual.
he had too much so I decided to take him home. we passed a diner and he begged me to stop so we did.
we both ordered biscuits n gravy and he had seemed to calm down.
About that time 2 cops walked in and were sitting having coffee minding their own business when my date started getting loud again. next thing I knew he was on his feet flinging the biscuits n gravy str8 at the cops. They took him down, not as hard as i would have, then they came for me and stopped. they asked if I knew him. I said "WHO?" I guess I looked like I was ready to piss my pants.
anyway they took him away and never saw him or them again
