Exciting times, whatever happened to exciting times?
We just don't celebrate them like we used to. Think about this. Hip replacements, knee replacements are common. It is an out patient process to have the lenses of your eyes replaced. They implant teeth now.
The first computer I worked on 20 years ago had a 40mb hard drive. My first home PC had a 4gb hard drive. I have a flash drive that is 8gb that cost me about $12. I can buy a 1tb hard drive for less than $100.
We used to watch space launches on tv at school. Now they go up and I read about it on CNN that night. Oh ok another one.
When I was a kid it was considered an acheivement to watch a tv program live from across the ocean. I now chat on cam with people all around the world.
How about IPods? Mobile phones?
So many amazing things are happening everyday. They just are not the type of things that get celebrated. Leaving the planet is something you can't compare anything to.
