Hmmm... Well, I think that often (like with any ethnicity) how passionate a person is depends on how passionate the OTHER person is and how you connect physically, emotionally, etc.

I am 75% Italian (the other 25% is a weird mix of English, Irish, Scottish, Turkish and Egyptian). I would say my most passionate physical interations were greatly affected by time, place, attraction, my confidence and my horniness.

As for Italian men physically, I think they often possess attractive qualities if you want to generalize: dark hair, olive skin, pleasant facial features, large dark eyes, thick (but not necessarily really long) penises, blah blah blah. Some qualities can also be very different in European as opposed to American Italians. Europeans tend to be slimmer (diet!), more stylish and almost metrosexual because the macho hangup is less prevalent. They are almost emotional in a more sensitive manner. Americans often fill that Brooklyn stereotype of tough, loud, lots of hand movement...

I am none of those. I could be olive skinned -- if I chose to go in the sun. I am bald (but USED to have black wavy hair!) I do have the large dark eyes and a thick cock... but I'm rather quiet. That part is attributed to being gay, I think. The temper is there, however...thanks, Mom.

Since so many of us dego boys are also Mama's boys, there is that whole issue to deal with. In fact, the Euro-Italian culture of "mama's boys" (and there is a very popular term but it escapes me right now) is rampant. There are large numbers of married men who still eat and sleep at Mama's house too often for my comfort and she even still does their laundry for them-- creepy!!! The wife is more of a formality -- a babymaker almost.

Anyway, now that I've rambled on.. I'm gonna go call my Mama! :p

ItalianStallion: From what I have observed is that in Italian culture most men are mama's boys, and mama often tells her son how to care for a woman, and how to love a woman properly. Italian culture is also very open about conversating about sex, I have an older sister who told me about sex, and how to please a woman, and any time I have a date or whatever, my mother would make sure to let me know how I should treat the lady. I am Italian and I grew up in a large Italian family, but the stereotype that Italians are great lovers I would say is more related to culture than to physical attributes.

Many Italians do have those "stereotypical" Mediterranean features, but at least in my family, many of my relatives are light complectioned, have light hair, and green and hazel eyes, as do many people in Northern Italy. The people of Northern Italy generally consider themselves to be the "true" Italians and look down on Southern Italy. I find that Brooklyn sterotype to be typical of a cross between Southern Italians and Yankees and not representative of Northern Italians at all. I do some work with a company based in Northern Italy, and the owners are so genteel and refined, totally unlike anything you would find in Brooklyn. They are much more like gentrified people you would find in the South--refined, mannerly, and polished.

As to being a mama's boy, there's no doubt about this. Italian society is definitely matriarchal. Even though I'm only part Italian, and though my mother is only part Italian, the matriarchal control gene got passed through. Even at age 34, my mother still tries to control (and does a good job oftentimes!) many aspects of my life. Dysfunctionally, I let her do it, but she's done it my whole life, why should I stop now? There are some things that I don't let her do, and when I feel she's controlling too much, we have fights, but after all, she's my mother, she birthed me and mothers do know everything about their sons--they have this uncanny 6th sense. It's bizarre.

Yeh, sounds a little like my family. I definitely liked being mama's boy. All that attention. Things got pretty harsh when I starting having relationships. The women in my life didn't treat me like my mama did!

Gentlemen,

IT is delightful to hear so many of you who have great regard and respect for your mother. I think that mothers definitely do set the standard (Good or bad) for a number of men. I think if a woman is smart she will observe a man's regard for his mother because if she is lucky that is how he will treat her too. Dont mess with Mama. I tend to get along with guy's moms anyway because I know mine! LOL!

I totally agree. Half my family is nothern and the other southern, and the northerners are more germanic, quieter, in nature. And let's not EVEN talk about Sicilians. My God, my grandmother used to dog them like crazy -- and she was 100% southern Italian!

Let me clarify my post a little. The differences in Northern and Southern Italians are as great as the differences between American Southerners and Yankees, except that it's reversed. The Northern Italians are the refined ones like the American Southerners and the Southern Italians tend to be coarser and louder like Brooklynites. Of course, this is a generalization, but it tends to be where they settled.

One of my favorite lovers ever was an Italian- sleek, gangsta-like and packing about 8.5x6 or thereabouts. He had tremendous stamina and we had an on-again-off-again thing for almost five years. He taught me a lot about sexual exploration.
The only other Italian lover I had was also pretty damned good, not quite as thick, but also pretty long. I know you can't draw much of a conclusion from two guys. but thinking about Italians always puts a smile on my face.

Never believe blanket statements. Some Italians are good in bed; some are clumsy and / or frigid. The same holds true for everyone else.

Judge the individual by his or her own abilities in the sack or anywhere else. You will not set yourself up for as much disappointment that way.
