And since you can be exposed to hiv during oral sex why is it ok to do that unprotected.

Because there has not been one single case of HIV transmission that we are 100% sure was transmitted through oral sex. It is near impossible to contract HIV through oral sex- whether you are the one giving or receiving. To say that it is possible to get HIV through oral is the same as saying it is possible to get hit by a car when you step out your front door.

What I am is a 36 year old man who grew up in the time when people actually took this seriously. In the 80s, when I was being educated, thousands of gay men were dying of this every month. What people seem to have forgotten is that people are still dying, HIV/AIDS is still out there, and there is still no cure. Why that seems to be of no concern to some people is mind-boggling to me.

YES.

YES YES YES.

The facts are these - if you wear one, you won't get it. If you don't wear one, you will get it. There is always a margin of error, but it is vanishingly small compared to the protection that condoms provide. That you even have to question this makes me fear for your standard of education.

I will never ever shut up about it, ever in my life.

.

Not all condoms are 100% safe.

You know what is scary to think about, though? Flossing. If you floss then perform oral, your chances of contracting it (from what I understand) skyrocket because of the tiny open wounds.

Are you fucking kidding me?? Not only is that such a horrible statement to make, it makes you seem like you're an ignorant 10 year old little bitch who has to throw insults to get your point across. (Yes, I realize what I said was a little insulting as well, but come on...)

Do you really think that just because someone has sex without a condom they are going to contract HIV?? It isn't the most responsible way of fucking, but nonetheless, it doesn't always mean that the person will have "AIDS" afterwards.

Don't watch bareback porn if you don't like it. Don't pay your money to a porn site that does bareback. But please, shut the fuck up crying about it and go on to something a little more important and pressing in your own life and leave well enough alone.
(Let the hateful comments begin, I guess....)

Well, come on. Dude has a screen name like "Bare Bear," says he has raw sex "whenever he can," and that he "doesn't care what anyone thinks." He was deliberately making an inflamatory post, does not care what other people say to him, seemingly doesn't care whether or not he contracts HIV, Hell, he may already have it. I know that there are some people who are HIV+ who almost exclusively have sex with other positive partners.

So, he was being deliberately inflamatory, and got the response he deserved.

What's so sad about attitudes like that is that yeah, HIV is considered a chronic health condition now, not a life threatening one. Never mind that the medications are so expensive that just to pay for them, you have to live below to poverty line to get the necessary medical coverage, never mind that even if you have a barely detectable viral load, you're succeptible to any cold or flu bug that comes your way, never mind that in some circles you're still treated like a pariah.

All of these bareback videos send a negative message, the idea that unprotected sex is completely and 100% okay, no matter the situation and damn the consequences. Yes, for a lot of studios that do bareback, the performers are already HIV+, but I'm not sure the consumers know this.

What is a bit disturbing is that obviously, the demand for bareback must be increasing, otherwise, the studios would not be producing more bareback videos. 5 years ago, the bareback market was considered niche, now, it's becoming increasingly mainstream. What has changed, and what can people do about it, other than vote with their wallets, and not subscribe or buy the bareback vids and content?

Well I'm glad I never took them up on their offer to do a sex scene after the solo shooti did with them . . .
And I think the OP is taking a good approach, speaking with his dollars and spreading the word among other customers who may geek the same way. You should definitely let SC know why you canceled your membership too.

Yeh, Sean Cody and Bel Ami have definitely been dropping bareback scenes into the mix, lately - altho usually with an 'unsafe sex' warning underneath. But still...

What annoys me the most tho - is the way you get a sudden influx of spam to your email address when you get a sub with English Lads, grrr. Who they selling our addy's to??

So? Does that mean you just don't bother using them?

Do you day to yourself, "There's a small chance this condom might break. So I might as well just not bother using it at all" ?

Does that make sense?

.

LOL this is funny!I wont even dignify this with an answer.

I'm not sure what source you are using for your "facts", but I'm pretty certain that the CDC and WHO wouldn't really agree with them. One could actually have unprotected sex with with someone who is HIV positive, and not contract the virus 100% of the time. I would suggest that you do a little research before stating "facts" that are so misleading. You say that porn studios are irresponsible for producing bareback porn, yet you are spouting off information that could potentially be just as dangerous.

My standards of education are pretty high, thanks. I made it pretty far through school.

I dont think there is anything wrong with watching it. You guys keep talking about these messages they send but like if you are dumb enough to think that because a bunch of pornstars aren't wearing condomn so you can't then you shouldn't be having sex anyway.

I vote keep watching but wear a condomn. How hard is it to generate an individual thought with out being swayed by everything pornography does.

And I agree about their not being enough minorities :(

Again I say - so what? Why take the chance? I do not understand why anyone would want to play russian roulette like that.

You say that porn studios are irresponsible for producing bareback porn, yet you are spouting off information that could potentially be just as dangerous.
I'm sorry, but I'm not quite clear on how telling people to wear condoms is supposed to be a bad thing.

I know what I need to know about HIV - most importantly, DON'T CATCH IT.

Not everyone is going to agree with you. And you certainly can't push your beliefs of onto other people. I think you should grow up a little.
Again, I have to wonder when wanting to save people's lives and not let them catch an incurable disease became a bad thing.

WHERE are you getting these "FACTS?" Making completely false statements like the ones above are what concern me. I am all about education and prevention, but actual REAL, TRUE education. Telling someone, anyone that if you wear a condom, you won't "get it" is a pretty ignorant and irresponsible thing to say.
