I suspect that it's intended to be insulting, it's not merely a harmless joke, but how outrageous it really is I don't know. Besides broadly coarse satire of religious images and iconography is as old as religion. It's not funny or original but it's not shocking or outrageous.

While in no way defending either the object linked in the OP or blasphemy in general, it is a type of eroticised thinking* for many people. Pornographic images in the 18th and 19th century are full of nuns and priests, to say nothing of the writings of the Marquis de Sade.

*What someone else would call a fetish, but it's not. A fetish is eroticising an inanimate object like leather or a specific odor, not a mindset or way of thinking, like blasphemy.
