I’m the steam & sauna can be cruisy, especially on Sunday afternoon- it gets crazy. I’ve seen stuff there even when it was really busy that I was shocked could happen in a place like that.

In a Korean spa one time, I was the only one in the steam room. A guy came in and sat directly across from me with 8 other stools available, but didn’t try anything. What’s up with that?
Only once have I played with myself in the steam room, I understand why so many do it now. I didn’t finish, but the humidity feels incredible. This spa keeps body lotion in the locker room, so I used a little bit of that too.

I don't mind making contact in them but only for light play where is no chance that someone will become an unexpected witness.
Otherwise, it's just connecting to play later if the person lives close by, or even in the showers if it's possible to do it without making others uncomfortable or being seen.
I don't think the gym is really the place to be doing full on hook-ups either and it's just public/voyeuristic behavior that some are obsessed with.

Like I totally get the allure of the encounter of seeing some guy you crushed on, on the gym floor and seeing him later and going through the seductive dance in the steam room or showers, I totally get it, but not everyone else wants to participate and observe. I used to work out a gym where they had to shut down the steam room after too many guys literally would force other patrons to sit through them trying to circle jerk, some of us are literally in there trying to relax and enjoy a steam without all of that. Like go take it to the showers, we worked out in a gym that had very private stalls and nobody really cared if you took your business to the very end of the hall.
In the steam back up at the westside ymca in Manhattan? Haven’t been since covid shut it down
