I’m well aware, I’m from there. The nationality of the people of the United Kingdom is British, regardless of whether you’re from GB or NI. So the OP was quite right in saying that Jamie is British.

No the nationality is up to the individual. The biggest national identity in Northern Ireland according to the census is irish. Just like the biggest national identity in England is English and Scotland is Scottish, not British. You may say their citzenship is British. Citzenship does not equal national identity. Uk by British tradition refers to itself as a nation of nations. Many have a dual national identity of irish and british or english and British national identity etc. Does not have to be binary. Citzenship does not equal national identity. Btw anyone born in Northern Ireland can get both British and irish citzenship by that fact too. Although the irsh stste inly vmcivers part of Ireland the ststes constitution lets anyone born in Ireland athomaticaly qualify for citzenship. I think jamie is quoted as saying his national identity is irish and British.
