Has anyone seen Buster & Billie? It's from the early 1970s. The movie had the first full-frontal male and that was Jan-Michael Vincent. He was a dream boat (too bad the drugs & alcohol destroyed that). Anyway, does anyone have the video? If so, can you post the pics? Mine was destroyed in the hurricane and I can't find a copy around here. Thanks.

He was hot. They NEVER show that film ... And I've never see a tape or DVD. A full frontal shot of him from the movie ran in Playboy in one of their 1970-something "Sex in the Cinema" issues. I know that because I spent a LOT of time with that old back issue as a teenager...

Admittedly in his youth he was hot. However, he's had his problems with drugs and alcohol, he was involved in a car accident in 1996 "resulting in a broken neck" (whose, I do not know), pleaded not guilty to DWI for that accident a year later. Spent 60 days in jail in 2000 for violating probation by being drunk in public. Arrested July, 2000 for battering his fiancee. The person who originally sent me this one said he was working as a security guard in Texas. Thanks to some due dilligence by readers Steve and Pam Albright, who went so far as to search a Texas database and found the security guard had his birthday March/3/1980 while our JMV seems to have been born July 15/1944. So that is officially considered debunked.

The last thing he appears in is a movie called Whiteboy, directed by Abel Ferrara in 2002, in it he plays a racist sheriff.

There is also an official JMV website which is currently inactive. Attached is a more recent pic.

He had something, a natural beauty and charm that made him a standout of his generation.

Here he is in his prime, softly alive in every fibre, full of presence, with a face as remarkable for its openness as for its cheekbones ... more a star than an actor, but perfectly cast in movie after movie, television show after television show, because he was just so at home whenever he stood in front of a camera.

Here he is at 40, in Airwolf. (I never saw this, but just discovered it on YouTube. Nice to keep lean.)

And here he is two years ago, at 63, the shell of the younger man, obviously savaged by brain damage ... from either of the two car accidents he had in the 1990s (breaking three cervical vertebrae in one of them), or the years of alcohol abuse.

It all seems pretty sad and premature.

Yes.

It's also heartbreaking and seems terribly exploitative.

Beautiful he was, but he was not the first frontal in movies. That was Terence Stamp in Theorem(1968) if I remember correctly, and Alan Bates & Oliver Reed had also done full frontal in Women In Love(1969).

I first saw him in a Made for TV movie called "Tribes". He played a rebellious hippie in a Marine Corps boot camp. Yeah, he was hot.

You're right Vince, I have seen that movie. Lord he was stunning.

Aging is a fact of life, but what has happen to him is way more than normal aging. Years of abusing his body with different substances has all but done him in. Sadly he not the only person to do have done this to himself but maybe he is one of the more public one, being that he was a famous star.

"I don't know about you fellas but to me he could almost be Tom Cruises brother or cousin. What a killer smile"..................no, he can act unlike t.snoooze

I was in a film with him titled "Hard Country" back in the late 70's and he could not have been any nicer and cuter. Kim Basinger, however, had not been 'discovered' at that time and she was her usual bitchy self, even to Jan-Michael.

There was a film out by Bruce Weber a few years ago called "Chop Suey Club". It followed an athlete turned nude model, but had other components. The film covered the Buster and Billie scene and included the footage as well.
