The Bear is fucking hilarious and I've been baffled by people questioning whether it's a comedy. I think people underestimate the depth and capabilities of humor, which is capable of containing pathos and tension and heartbreak.

On the flip side, lots of dramas can be funny! The Bear included lol. I don't think the debate is over whether a comedy can be multifaceted, because of course it can, but whether humor is the central purpose of the show (it's not).

You're right. Succession is a perfect example of a drama that's frequently hilarious. I do think, however, that saying the central purpose of The Bear isn't to make you laugh is profoundly reductive considering the multitude of emotions at play throughout the show.

In my opinion it's him, I'm not too surprised either, if the rumors about his preference for alcohol are true then it's not surprising that he didn't take too much care back then.

The guy on the other picture in here is definitely him, without any doubt.

Now he will be more careful of course, because he's having really good career prospects now.
