Anne Bancroft was beautiful in "The Graduate." I went to the theater and dinner with her and Mel Brooks ten years ago, and she was still beautiful at age 70.
Madonna isn't aging naturally. She's had tons of cosmetic work done. She had a nose job back in the early 1990s, at least one face lift recently, cheek implants recently, and certainly several other injections. For the most part, she looks amazing, particularly for her age. But in the wrong light and from the wrong angle all this work can make her look scary!
She's currently on the cover of "New Beauty" magazine. She looks beautiful on its cover. But sometimes in the wrong light and wrong angle when she tries to put on that "ain't I sexy?" look, it makes her look like a zombie. I think you can only pull that face off in your 20s and maybe 30s.
I have to say that I don't think the photo of Madonna is particularly flattering. The make is heavy, which is aging, and she's wearing a wig. The shots, which were mostly reproduced in black and white, did, however work quite well.
Around 6 months earlier Madonna was seen at the Vanity Fair Oscar night party and she looked great. There's a short video, and some non-airbrushed shots from the evening below:
