I work-out at a gym four times a week after work. In addition to some basic cardio to get me warmed up, I use a combination of machines and free weights. When I was younger, I tried to beef-up so that my musculature would look more imposing, but it never would happen for me. I finally realized that a more appropriate goal for me was to have a good version of my body-type, which is naturally inclined to being slender. At 38, I just want to maintain what I've got.
Some guys take steroids, of course, but they are hard on your body, and they do have side-effects. A few years ago, I used to date a guy who took them. He had a great physique, but absolutely the smallest nuts on a man I had ever seen. They were no bigger than marbles. I don't think it's worth it.
