I've spent a lot of time pondering this photo and the others like it. HOW HOW HOW did Life magazine get away with this series? Were they ever actually published in the magazine, or have they sat in some editor's file cabinet all these years? There seem to be a lot of such vintage photos of guys in their jocks (including--mind glowingly--wearing them in the open shower. I mean, I did that and used it as a chance to rinse out my jock and then take it off with a lot of other men watching.) Does ANYONE know the history behind these shots?

I've done this! Back in the 80's when I spent a LOT of time in a college sauna I often wore my jock under my towel and then pulled off the towel. Really miss those days.
