Hey guys are jockstraps a thing of the past that boys and guys used to protect themselves in sports and working out?

Today I went to the Target store looking for one. I figured I check sporting goods there was none. So I decided to check men's underwear section nothing there either.

So I thought I was doing the right thing I stopped a male worker and asked.i could not have been more wrong he looked at me a little funny then says wait here while I discreetly ask another associate. Made me feel as if I was doing something possible wrong. Then comes back says there on our website.

It left me shaking my head thinking to myself did I miss something! Did I do something wrong? What up with discreetly Do guys still use them for sports to protect the junk. Let me know.

Just honest thought!!

They have definitely been out of style for a long time now. Like Jon said, guys and boys wear compression shorts.

Guys wear compression shorts to hold things in place, but to also smooth out their bulge so that their dick is not noticeable.

If a boy wore them these days, he would most definitely be made fun of, called gay, and be seen as "the weird kid". That's how jockstraps have been viewed for awhile now.

jocks are a thing of the past. I believethat bike one of the leading jck makers stopped making them. today guys use compression shorts I think the may still have jock and cups in sporting goods stores for baseball. but most wear compression shorts now.most football players wear compression shorts which makes thier junk more visable VPL in thier uniform pants.

They definitely are hard to find in stores. Some sporting goods stores carry them. But sadly they aren’t that popular anymore. Some Walmarts still carry them. I have been buying them online

Thank you however, if they are thing of past and (not trying be offensive) only used in bi/gay seance I worry about ordering due to packaging. As don't want ppl to get wrong idea

(If I was offensive to gay/bi community i apologize not my intention..

I'm not gay and I wear them regularly. If you're too embarrassed to buy them in a store, order them online and they just come in either a box or a mailer bag.

I wear jocks to the gym or when playing sports and no one ever gets the wrong idea. I recently bought a few bike jocks.

The associate made me feel otherwise I was fine buying at store it was his weird look then stay here while I ask another associate discreetly made me think otherwise

Weird looks aside, I'd want the associates in the store to be discreet. Do you want them to shout "Yo, do we have any jockstraps?" The weird look may have been simply because its not something that many people ask for in that store.

Maybe no one has ever asked for a jockstrap. its possible the store worker himself has never worn one

I didn't think out it like that always great another point of view..

Bike is still in the jockstrap business. But of relevance to this convo, it does in fact seem like they now market exclusively to gay men if you look at their (very sexy) Instagram. Back in the day, they were just another department store underwear brand like Fruit of the Loom or Hanes, as I recall.

Jocks are out of fashion right now but I'm not sure why. Nothing does the job as well as an athletic supporter. I sometimes wear compression shorts but there is a jock underneath. Good luck finding a jockstrap in a store. Straps used to be common even in stores like Target. K-mart even had their own brand of jocks. Online is your best bet today. I like Golberg or McDavid athletic supporters both easy to find on the net.
