Jockstraps why and when?

Hey guys,
Ive been looking at some jockstraps and they sure look damn sexy on most of guys. I thought about buying ones to wear during summer or workout for better ventilation, but I wonder how socially acceptable it is to undress myself in the locker room wearing a jockstrap. Are there any guys here who use jock straps for reasons which are not only about sex?

Given these are properly called "athletic supporters" there is no reason why they should be out of place in the gym -- certainly aren't in any gym I've used.
I wonder how comfy they arr and if it's something I should use :)

I wear a jockstrap to the gym all the time. The extra support they give to my balls prevents testicular achiness after vigorous exercise. Not many men wear a jockstrap at my gym. No one has ever made an issue of it.

I have a couple. The thing is there are lots of new styles of jocks. I find the best selection online at International Jock (not all jocks btw). Some have a pouch that lets your junk just hang in there. Or, Some that actually lift and project your boys as well. Fun stuff and perfect for the gym.

I have about ten straps. Mostly hard cup ones. Kickboxing, baseball, etc. I wear mine all the time and a lot of my friends wear them too. I could care less what other people think. Life is too short. Google all the types of straps. Have fun and enjoy.

Its been a long time since I was a gym member. I did wear a jock though because of the comfort that it provided. Jocked up in the locker room and of course undressed before my shower. I'm sure that a few guys noticed but no one ever said anything. I didn't try to flaunt or hide my choice of underwear. The biggest thing to making a jock acceptable in the gym is your confidence and attitude. If you act like you are doing something sketchy then people will think that you are. Jock up ands OWN it!

When i was taking up karate lessons it was actually a requirement to have to wear a jockstrap & protective cut.
Some of the guys though would wear the jockstrap and underwear on top of it whilst others wore only the jockstrap under the karate uniform.

I was in the group that wore the strap with underwear on top :/

I used to wear a jockstrap at the gym all the time. But the gym I went to was the local YMCA which had a very large gay membership. I'm guessing that the ratio was about 75% gay/bi to 25% straight. My partner at the time also wore a jockstrap most of the time. The lockers were located in 4 different rooms, but our lockers were in the smallest room, so I never saw many guys dressing/undressing. But I did notice that the ones I did see, there were some others that also wore jockstraps.

There is currently one guy, other than myself, wearing a jock strap at my gym. We are both older and come from a time when their use was totally common (every day in PE, under shorts at the beach, touch football on the weekends, etc. Every guy had at least one just as they had a pair of briefs for every day of the week). NO one even seems to notice. I sometimes wear one when I ma planning on doing squats as it just feels like I have more mobility.
OP, buy a couple and try them out. No harm. NO one will hassle you.

They're not only about sex. They are also athletic supporters designed to support the testicles and prevent possible hernias during exercise.
But they also be erotic, especially the fashion ones that show off a bulging cock and that also invite easy access at the rear

I think the newer types of jocks are doable vs the old fashioned white harsh fabric ones that old guys use or guys who like play a legit sport. But the new ones that are softer, cotton, colors that are more used for comfort I think are at least seen as more fashionable. I mean its basically boxer briefs with the ass cut out lol. But they are comfortable under shorts...but not sure how much more then say boxer briefs.

I think whether you get looks or not really depends on the gym. I go to two gyms...one more local where like no one uses the locker room or showers barely..just a place to throw jacket. The other..gym near where I work in NYC..although you rarely see jocks of any kind..mostly underwear or compression...everyone showers pretty much so it wouldnt be as odd. But yeah if you are using them just because they are comfortable, feel better..def go for it.

I've worn them for sports. Most of the younger guys that wear them wear a boxer brief or compression short over them. It's probably mostly because their modest, but you also have the shart risk factor. They're very supportive up front, but it's like going commando in the back. So be careful doing those squats.

Or because the shorts do a better job of keeping things in place. I play ice hockey. Almost no one wears a traditional “jock strap” for that reason.
