Johnny Weir 'Not Family Friendly' Enough For Stars On Ice?

Johnny Weir represented the United States in the Vancouver Olympics last month, but that accomplishment is evidently not enough to earn him a spot on the Stars on Ice Tour. Nobody doubts the American figure skater's skill: in addition to competing at the Torino Olympics in 2006, he finished sixth at the 2010 Winter Olympics and is a three-time national champion.
Rather, it seems Weir may have been left off the team because he is "not family friendly." As GLAAD notes, such a claim "would be a clear jab at his perceived sexual orientation." The blog post continues:

Wow, 2010, and some people still can't accept the world around them, disgusting. What the hell is "family friendly"? That's what I want to know.

Its because as we all know, being gay is wrong and the idea of doing something similar to Jesus, Pretty much walking on water, would turn a generation gay.

Oh, my god! There are gay figure skaters?

    No way. Simply not possible.

Of the men, I totally agree.

And how many other men in Stars on Ice are gay? I mean, come on! I guess it pays to stay in the closet.

I'm of two minds here really. While I enjoy ice skating and watching the olympic events, I would rather have dental work than go to one of these ice shows.
I have a great deal of respect for his talent as a figure skater and from what little I've read about him, as a person also.
But this show like almost every other touring event is a business that is marketed toward a specific demographic. I think just like casting any other production they have the right to pick and choose who they wish to contract to promote ratings and revenue.
I hope that he finds a venue for his talent and skill that is superior to Stars On Ice.
Not that I always agree with these scores, but almost everyone uses this service now!

I am straight but given the option I'd go to the bar with the gay guys rather than anyone (of whatever sexual persuasion) from the world of entertainment and tv, they are so far up their own fundaments and anyone elses who is in production or presentation. Dancing on ice, didn't the English gentry invent that in Switzerland: how inbred and dumb do you have to be.

It was the tassel that did it.

I think he was scored down.
Should he have been on the podium? I'm not sure, possibly.
But he was definitely scored down a notch or two.
