    ...and goes to town.

Video: For Fox Sake! | The Daily Show | Comedy Central

For those that will defend Fox News against the White House's remarks by Anita Dunn, they said the same thing to MSNBC.

Will news ever return to being news? People need to stop watching this opinions-disguised-as-news bullshit.

There is no such thing as NEWS on television. Everything you see on ANY network OR local channel is geared to selling commercial time (oops, I forgot to include the internet and newspapers and magazines). The more horrendous the story, the more ad money rolls in.

Why the White House buys into all this crap if beyond me.

In order to get the full story and the truthful facts, you have to wade through endless piles of bullshit and listen to ads trying to sell you something you don't want, don't need and even if you did, you can't afford! Every major corporation has sales people at the helm. Not people that really know anything substantial about their business, just sales. It has become a sickening part of life wherever you go.

TV news is THE worst because they only *tease* and never, ever produce all the facts or background of a story. I brought this up in one of my other threads, http://www.lpsg.org/155285-same-sex-marriage-nbc-wall.html the public is never told who owns the companies that runs the myriad of polls published on TV or elsewhere. Just like the public is never told who conducted and paid for the medical studies that TV news has on every night. You know, the ones that contradict the ones that we were told were truth the year (in some cases, the night!) before?

What is the big surprise that a man who made his first billion running sleazy tabloids that he would also run his television news the same way? Just wait and see what he does with the WSJ.

    1. I've seen Jon Stewart do better. It wasn't really funny because Fox is delivering the News and Democrats are watching. WillTom isn't in love with Sheppard Smith because he's watching CNN.

    2. The whole Cal Thomas part was bogus because Administrations have always had their squabbles with the Media... as all of the News Organizations recognized. What was different about this White House's War with Fox News was they took it a step further...over the line and banned Fox from an interview in the White House Press Pool. All of the News Organizations knew that was wrong and made the Obama White House look terrible. Not even CNN went along with that.

    3. If anything, Jon Stewart bent over Obama and the White House. Jon Stewart should have just centered the whole skit on Valerie Jarret and Anita Dunne's silliness...it would have been knee slapping hilarious. Oh and don't forget Rahm's statement which was ridiculous. Truth to Power...
Can you believe Obama's mouth piece acknowledged that FOX NEWS is the Power? The Truth is...the Obama Administration are hypocrits. Jon Stewart even knew it. They aren't battling against MSNBC because they agree with them. The White House isn't standing on principle - just against FOX. That explains why the Obama administration violated the WH Press Pool rules and interferred with Freedom of the Press. It also explains why Jon Stewart's skit didn't really hit...

Granted your referencing a show on a Comedy Channel. Last I checked the Obamabots now audit and reference check comedic political rhetoric and pretty much dispose of it, a la SNL post-Tina Fey that is... so why should we give this better treatment.

They do that because they know Stewart and Colbert have a huge audience and are true news sources despite being comedy shows.

Comedy is a very legitimate form of political criticism as Jonathan Swift amply proved.

Stewart's recent tirades against CNN in particular have been spot-on.

The lack of a real news outlet these days is truly frightening. These channels don't seem to do an ounce of actual investigating or research for their stories any more.

People actually think Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck are news sources. It's appalling. At least Stewart is on COMEDY CENTRAL and fully admits to being an utterly biased Liberal.

There was a very interesting commercial against Lou Dobbs last night on some of the networks pushing for his resignation from CNN based on the things he's said about immigrants over the years. Drop Dobbs: Halt the Hate

It would be interesting to see people from the other side take Beck to task for some of the things he's said over the last year or so, however, we all know that ain't gonna happen.

Investigative reporting is expensive and since the goal of the media is no longer to inform the public but to garner high ratings and profit it's been kicked to the curb. And to say nothing about the people being investigated are most likely rich and powerful and they could make 'growing the business' very difficult so the story is never told. Never.

I enjoy how everyone ignored Trinity entirely. I hope that sort of irrelevance happens to the GOP on a much broader scale. Here's to the Tea Party destroying the Republican Party!

I think that's because Trannity's on most reasonable people's Ignore list: has been on mine for about a year now.
