I dont think that Jonathan would be into making a real horror movie. Unless it was a psychological type or horror movie. Like The Substance. But he would possibly turn down horror movies like Scream, Saw and Final Destnation. He is european. European actors tends to be more intellectual. Especially british actors. Have you ever seen Kate Winslet in a gory horror movie. Jonathan seems to mostly be a drama actor.

Just popped in to say that Jonathan was THE sexiest man of 2024. Between Fellow Travelers, his legs at #that Wicked premiere, his charismatic turn as Fiyero and just his overall style and charm. There’s something very elfin about his appearance (I love his ears) that’s incredibly attractive.

Interesting observation. The only British actor I can think of at the top of my head who recently did a major horror movie is Toni Collette in Hereditary. I know a lot of people who say she was snubbed for an Oscar nomination

Before Demi Moore, the last two actors to get Oscar nodded for horror performances were Brits Daniel Kaluuya for Get Out and Carey Mulligan for Promising Young Woman (some people don't count the latter, I do cause thriller is basically horror). I think Jonny could join their ranks with the right project.

The way the Academy hates horror needs to be studied. I think they just see it as a bunch of people running, screaming or killing people Demi was such a breakthrough last year. I will NEVER watch The Substance again but wow, what a film.

The Academy is just so archaic and really needs more of a revamp, because so many good horror performances have fallen through the cracks. I love The Substance too and Demi SHOULD HAVE WON!

For Jonny, I can see him do something sexy and cheeky like the American Psycho remake. I can also see him do something like The Babadook and Hereditary, that mixes horror and drama and really gives him something juicy. I'd love to see a gay version of that scenario with Jonny, where he never wanted to have a family and reluctantly goes along with his partner's wishes and ends up having to protect the child he never wanted from evil forces and confront whether or not he truly wants to save his family or not.
