I've been absent form LPSG this week due to being called to serve on a jury for New York Supreme Court. I'll most likely be away for the next week as well.
As you know you can not discuss a case until it is over. This case is very complicated and tedious. I've been in court during the days and coming to the office to work until about midnight. So I'm a little tired and cranky. But I've missed all of you here.
Anyone else have any interesting stories about being on jury duty. This is my first time...I've always been dismissed!

Man i love these people who come online and announce that they are leaving LPSG or that they will not be online for some reason or another. Who cares! Guess what, the world does not revolve around you.

Just because no one cares that you are gone, doesn't mean that people don't want to know when others are gone.

My SO has been summoned for jury duty twice - although has not had to actually serve except once.
I've not been called - guess I'm exempt since I believe in the dealth penalty (in most cases.)

Take the nut that thru his four young children off a hi-rise bridge in South Alabama. He's a perfect example of one who needs not to live.

You suddenly decided to post in an offensive manner on Jeff Black's blog here one day, despite having had no previous contact with him. Since then you've run after him from thread to thread, leaving mean-spirited comments.

Of course, you've littered this forum with rude and offensive remarks aimed at a variety of people in recent weeks, so one shouldn't be surprised.

But just as a word of advice: why not go back to bug-chasing instead?

I made the final panel or potential jurors for a complicated drunk driving case in my county last year. The case focused more on the police use of breathalyzers than the level of inebriation of the driver in question. I was eager to participate in the trial.

But when the defense found out my job involves using computers for interpreting and analyzing lots of data for recognizable trends and patterns, I was quickly dropped from the panel.

You will have to forgive me for laughing... I thought you put me on ignore. How sweet of you to be an asshole to someone else, and then come back to be an asshole to me...

Like I said, no reason to be rude, yet you seem to do it to everyone. Put me back on ignore. Then we both don't have to interact with each other.

Btw, I'm not even remotely a twink, but thank you for the lovely compliment.

Btw, in terms of Jury duty... I've heard a few interesting stories about people hooking up. Nothing sexy, nothing that lasted, but two of my friends did duty and ended up going out afterwards.

I hope you can find someone to fantasize about in there. Hopefully you don't get bored.

That's a good one...but at this point I think I'm the only hung jury member...because I'm the only juror with a member! But the security guy on the first floor who always seems to be in the jurors bathroom on another floor seems to be packing some heat!

Have compassion, Alex. He's from Oshawa.
Paraphrasing Ol' Sam Jay, the miracle that an Oshawan posts is not that he posts nicely, but that he posts at all.

Ouch, only a guy from Ottawa would mock... I'm not a fan of Oshawa. It's kinda dirty there.

Come on, man, leak that shit anonymously on the digital underground; also remember the cardinal rules of jury duty: Blacks are always guilty, and whites get off scot free!

Yeah, nudeyorkie, I was on a jury once to hear the case of a drug dealer. We ended up finding him guilty and suggested a 20-year term with no fine. I was the foreman and when I handed our decision to the judge he made a wiseass remark about it having taken 5-hours out of his day for us to come to a verdict. I knew better than to reply to that.
